1. How ticklish are you? My feet are kinda, and my back is pretty sensitive, if that counts
2. When did you most recently experience physical numbness? Probably recently when my hand or foot fell asleep
3. What’s caused you recently to squirm? I was watching I, Claudius and it showed a dead cat..show me dead humans, but don't do that to me :( (I had to look away, ugh)
4. What recently caused you to gag? *shrugs*
5. Which item in your wardrobe is most uncomfortable to wear? Tight things that don't fit anymore, for one

I saw the sleep doctor this week, and they said the results from the sleep test showed some apneas, but not above normal. I told her I barely slept at all and didn't think that was an accurate representation of my regular sleep, so she's going to see if my insurance will pay for a study at the sleep center, which is probably more accurate and sophisticated. I hope they do, I'm tired of being exhausted all the time!

Next week I'm going to try working three hours three days a week now and see how I do..two hours goes by so fast and I feel like I hardly get anything done. Things are weird though..Shirley disappeared for like a month, then suddenly decided she didn't want to work at the bookstore anymore, and no one knows why..she won't answer calls. I hope nothing bad is happening to her. D: Kathy retired from volunteering because she's in her 80s and wants to spend more time with her grandkids and do projects at home (which is fair, but I still miss her lol). Denise is going to step down from being the Bookstore Manager to an assistant manager..she's completely exhausted, especially with dealing with people who never listen to her and make messes every day (when I came in on Wednesday she was sobbing while trying to clean up yet another mess). The whole atmosphere is stressing me out and just making me feel weird. I miss how things were before covid messed everything up. :( I hope things can get better with a fresh new manager who likes overseeing people, though I always worry about having to get used to a new person lol. Things must improve...

Chloe is very wise and a great advocate for autism!! I get the "you don't look like you have autism" all the time too. It's a part of my identity as well..even though it can be hard, I just wouldn't be the same without it! Like her, I constantly fidget as well. I feel so anxious if I don't Her inflatable vest is so cool! I noticed when I went to the dentist a couple days ago, when they put that heavy blanket thing (?) over me when getting x-rays, I immediately felt calmer and so cozy. I literally LOLed at the "open the door" response, that is such an awesomely autistic thing to say haha. I definitely added her on Facebook, especially because she will interact with you! Keep being awesome, Chloe :D

Some areas of Interior Alaska might get 16 inches of snow this weekend. D: Snow is pretty, but that's way too much at once lol

Not sure where Kathy got it, but she brought an adorable stuffed penguin to work to sell, which I immediately grabbed LOL. She didn't believe I was serious at first, and I was just holding my hands out like "what are you waiting for??" haha. I hugged it when she finally gave it to me lol. And yeah, its name is definitely Cherry :D

Today's trivia: The only McDonald's in the world where the golden arches aren't golden is in Sedona, Arizona (they're blue). They thought yellow clashed with the natural red rock (ooo, I'll have to look out for that McDonald's the next time I'm in Sedona lol)

Kathy came in today, and after gathering up courage (confrontations are scary!!), I told her that I've always appreciated what she's done for me, whether for a ride home, lunch, etc, but it's just hard for me to express it. I told her that even though I was upset, I'm glad she told me so I can express it better (I said next time I will definitely make it obvious to her). She looked very touched and gave me a big hug and said "I'm glad we're still friends!" and I said "me too! Sorry for freaking out on you." She was like "that's all behind us, now we can move ahead." I said "we're good!" and she said the same. Phew!! I'm so glad there's no hard feelings between us, and I'm glad I told her I appreciated her, because I definitely do and didn't mean to hurt her feelings. She's such a great friend! I've been practicing with Denise lol..we like to get smoothies a couple times a week for lunch. It took me like five minutes to get there (my hands were shaking haha!), but I said "I appreciated the nice walk with you" and she said "thanks! I know how hard this is for you and I'm proud that you're trying so hard." Aww. She's a great friend as well! I'm so lucky and glad I have people who understand and support me <3

I meet the most..interesting people walking to work..today this homeless guy that had been digging in the trash was like "Do you have burlap bag? Burlap bag? Burlap bag!!" and I was just like "...no" and as I left he kept saying something about the Lord smiting people who don't help others..or something like that..and something about the Lord giving people burlap bags?? Uncomfortable, but I still felt bad for him..there was nothing I could do though :(

Thanks everyone for your support on my last entry, it means a lot. <3 When Denise got to work today, she pulled me aside and told me she and Becky had a talk with Kathy after I left yesterday. She was upset because she didn't mean to hurt me. She said that the person who told Kathy about the thank you thing was her friend that knew about autism..or something like that, so no one was talking about me behind my back. That made me feel a LOT better. My way of saying "thank you" is "that was a nice lunch," which I did say to her, but of course not everyone knows that's my way of showing appreciation..they can't read my mind lol. Next time Kathy comes in we'll just have to talk it out and clear the air..she's been my friend a long time and I don't want to ruin it. I'll definitely have to work on showing my appreciation (at least in a way it's obvious to other people lol). The situation could have been handled better by both of us, but we'll just have to learn from it and move on :)

This is my new favorite song right now:

I listen to a radio station that plays "70s, 80s, and whatever" lol, and I'm always hearing great songs from there! (And they don't play the same song more than once a day, which is even cooler.) I love the part that goes "Earth below us, drifting, falling, floating weightless"..it's kinda relaxing. I especially like when they play Billy Joel, since I'm addicted to his music right now :P

Today I went to lunch with Kathy, and after we're done she was like "I wanted to ask you..has anyone ever told you to say thank you when someone does something nice for you? You never have with me, and it kinda hurt my feelings." I told her that saying thank you is extremely hard for me, not because I don't appreciate it (of course I do!)..it's just one part of my autism I haven't been able to overcome yet (when Nina, who used to be my job coach, and I went to lunch, that subject came up once, and I was like "you know I appreciate it right?" and she said "yes, I can tell by your smile that you are thankful. A lot of my autistic clients are like that"). Kathy was like "that's not an excuse! Someone came up to me once and said that you need to say thank you, since you never do." Wait, what?!? I asked her who had said that and she said "I'm not going to say, it doesn't matter." Then I just started sobbing. She drove me back to work and I just had to hide in my office and cry..I didn't mean to hurt her feelings!! Then I thought of that "someone" who said that behind my back and felt angry and betrayed, like my whole world had just shattered. I've always wondered what people say when I'm not there, and I guess now I know. I haven't felt that depressed in a long time..if you have a problem with me, just come up and talk to me about it! I saw Kathy go into Becky's office..I think she knew that I was hurt and was telling Becky about it. I told Paulette and Denise about it, and they were both very understanding. I know they'll always have my back. <3 Kathy kept trying to talk to me like nothing had even happened, but I was too hurt to talk to her. I had to come home because I was too upset to function properly lol (I took a Xanax and went to bed LOL). I know I need to work on saying thank you, but that was NOT the right way to go about it..it hurts me deeply someone would say that behind my back. I feel better after a nap and writing this, but it still hurts. I think I'll need to talk with Kathy again, when I'm not so upset..I think I hurt her too. :( I'll just have to pick myself up and move on..I know who my true friends are and that means a lot <3

In happier news, I seriously cannot believe it's been a year since I got into polar exploration and Cherry. It was so funny, I was at work and all of a sudden, BAM! I was just sitting there like "CHERRY ANTARCTICA YAY" LOL. Cherry has definitely been an inspiration to me and has helped me through hard times <3

Today's trivia: For one dazzling minute each night in Providence, Rhode Island, buildings, boats, nightclubs and folks on the street make the city skyline sparkle by flashing lights on one side of the Providence River. The aim is to brighten the spirits of kids in Hasbro Children’s Hospital, located on the opposite bank (omg this is AMAZING..I heard it on the radio earlier and couldn't wait to share it!)

For years now, I've noticed my mouth/throat feels weird and itchy when I eat certain foods, like apples and melons..mom thought I was making up excuses not to eat healthy food lol, but then I came across oral allergy syndrome, which matched what I had been experiencing! Here are some foods it says are common with oral allergy syndrome (ones that I've reacted to in bold):

Birch pollen: apple, almond, carrot, celery, cherry, hazelnut, kiwi, peach, pear, plum
Grass pollen: celery, melons, oranges, peaches, tomato
Ragweed pollen: banana, cucumber, melons, sunflower seeds, zucchini

I'm so happy there's an actual condition for this and it's not just me being weird lol. Yesterday I had a couple apple slices that were offered to me, and sure enough, my mouth got itchy..but I can eat applesauce and drink apple juice with no problems (and I don't necessarily get the reaction every time). Weird! Cooked veggies are fine as well. I am allergic to birch pollen, so it makes sense I'm sensitive to food related to it. Anyone else experience this too?

Yesterday was work's Volunteer Appreciation Picnic..Kathy won the best volunteer award, which she definitely earned..she's been volunteering there 11 years!! She brought a bunch of her family, like her kids and grandkids and husband. That's only the second time I've ever met her husband! Her husband and her son are both dentists and work at the same practice..I chose that practice for my dentist, so it was weird seeing my dentist there LOL (oops, you didn't see me eat that cake.. ;)). They're the best dentists I've been to..they actually compliment your teeth instead of just saying negative things..the hygienist has a picture on her wall that says "we cater to cowards." Now I'm less scared going to the dentist. :) Her grandkids always impress me when I see them..they're nice, polite and well-behaved. Her husband's a pilot, so I told him he should fly me to Black Rapids Glacier sometime hehe. ;) Great family!!

The spelling bee last night was pretty fun. My parents, Bjorn and Kathy all came to cheer me on. We were the third team to spell..I think our first word was "recidivist" (I don't have the list with me). The sentence they used was "Justin Bieber is a recidivist and should be deported." LOL. It was kinda annoying seeing the teams misspell or throw out easy words ("Farenhight"?!? Really??). I guess they didn't practice. It's always nerve wracking being the one to spell..I make sure to spell super slow so I don't mess up (some people spelled fast! D: That freaks me out haha). We also had words like "hellebore" and "physiotherapist" (perfect for Denise, since she works for a chiropractor haha). One team got bivouac! I was so jealous, I wanted a mountaineering word haha! The team numbers kept getting lower..then there were three left, including us. That team got their word wrong, which left only two left, us and a rotary team!! OMG I was shaking like crazy haha. To win you have to spell two words in a row right..we got our word wrong, so it passed to the rotary team (conveniently they were located right below us haha). They got both their words right and won (the winning word was wharfinger). OMG we were SO happy to get second place though!! Mike said that's the best the LCA has ever done! My team is awesome, we all have different areas we're knowledgeable about (Denise is good with Middle Eastern words since she used to live there, Jackie has been involved with spelling bees a long time so she knows the words well, I'm good with Latin..). It definitely worked well for us! We got a plaque and $15 gift certificates to the bookstore. In all we raised over 23,000!!! A very successful night :) (I also finally met Layla ([livejournal.com profile] laylalawlor), who came too! Yay, I love meeting LJ friends hehe)

Today school started again. Before class I went to work for a bit..they were glad to see me. Kathy kept saying how much she missed me..aww. I'm glad I'm appreciated over there. :D My first class was Pre-Algebra. All of our homework will be online..interesting. I hope I'll understand it better now that I'm older and more mature and working towards a goal. My next class was English: Introduction to College Writing or something like that. I was "meh" about it cause writing papers is annoying..but it actually seems interesting. The professor is awesome..she's funny, "hip" haha, etc. Once a week we're required to write a journal entry..either on a topic she chooses or whatever you want to write about if you don't know what to write about on the topic. Awesome..I've had to do that in English before and it's fun to go back and read them. We're also required to keep a blog and comment on other students' blogs. Wow..now that is cool! I've had lots of experience with that. ;) The professor said one of our essays will be on zombies heh. I have a feeling this will not be a normal English class :P

I shall post the rest of my Hawaii pics tomorrow!

Today I turned 22! I've felt so loved today haha..I got so many birthday wishes online! Pat gave me a card that said "to one of the best friends I have ever known." Awww. The Literacy Council got me a SUPER chocolaty cupcake and they were slow on the card and gift card but hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. I got a $50 amazon.com gift card from Dana! :D I can't wait to use it haha. I went out to lunch with Nina..I got a strawberry daiquiri. It was alright. Mom and everyone are taking me out to dinner tomorrow (since Ryan has to work tonight..it's a surprise where though!) and on Monday I'm going to lunch with Kathy and Pat. Wow haha. Mom picked me up after work and..I went to get my first tattoo ever! I had thought about it for a long time and then suddenly last week the idea came to me and it wouldn't get out of my head. Mom wasn't really thrilled but I'm old enough so..yeah haha. I talked to one of the tattoo artists in the shop and we looked at pics on Google and decided on a pic..which were cat paw prints. He sketched it out and then tattooed it on me. It did hurt but I could stand it for a short time. It was a small one so it didn't take that long. It originally cost $100 but since it was my birthday he only charged me $80! Awww. Then we went to Barnes and Noble and I got some books. Yaay hehe. Great birthday..one of the best!

There's a Catholic church downtown I've been wanting to go to for like 3 years. It's pretty old and imagined it looked beautiful inside. Today I went to lunch with one of my coworkers (Kathy). She had to drop something off outside the church and I asked her if we could go inside (she goes to church there too). She said we could if it was open..which it was! My vision wasn't disappointed..it was BEAUTIFUL. It had lovely stained glass and the ceiling decorations and stuff were just gorgeous. It was so powerful I felt it all the way to my feet..wow. Kathy said since I had never been to the church before to make a wish to God and I did. Aw cool. Here's a pic of it: http://img.groundspeak.com/waymarking/display/f6d779e8-da70-4ba0-a0e6-fdd190a361da.JPG
