A couple moose came to visit this morning!

They heard me open the door and looked over at me. Curti was VERY intrigued, he was creeping slowly on the deck haha

26. How have you improved yourself this year? I just..somehow feel stronger after everything that's happened this year. It's nice being able to say "have a good day!" to customers too!
glacier_kitty: (meowy christmas)
This morning, Ryan made everyone scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls, and after we ate he made a drink called sahlab, a Middle Eastern "pudding," made with milk, sugar, vanilla, etc, topped with cinnamon and I think pistachios. It tasted like cinnamon-y warm milk. It made definitely made me full for awhile haha. After that we opened presents..there were a lot more under the tree this year, it seemed like. Of course Curti had to come check everything out lol. Jo got me a bowl he MADE with Curti's name on it and pawprints on the bottom, with glacial blue colors! It's SO cool, it looks professionally made! I also got cat themed PJs and socks, a Doordash gift card, a Barnes and Noble gift card (which I got early, because it was going to snow the next day and then get super cold again), a booklight (yay, I can read on the bus if it's too dark now!), a bookstore jigsaw puzzle, some plush dragons from How to Train Your Dragon (I guess mom knows how much I love that movie haha), and an Amazon gift card from Dana (there might be more, but I can't remember at the moment :P). A great haul for everyone this year! Later we had a pot roast dinner..Ryan made SUPER fancy carrots, with cream fraiche and other stuff on them..I am definitely full now lol (mom got a popcorn maker, and thought about using it tonight, but we are WAY too full..maybe we'll try again tomorrow :P). Last year mom and I had the stomach flu during Christmas, and had to delay opening presents..this Christmas was definitely way more fun LOL

pics from the day! )

22. Some things you want to start doing: Probably do housework more often..I'm just so tired a lot of the time though :P

23. The most valuable lesson you've learned this year: I am stubborn and can definitely get through a lot..it was definitely a hard year, especially with Abby dying and the move at work. I hope 2026 will be better!

24. Your favorite holiday traditions: Opening presents, yummy food, listening to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, (not a Christmas song, but one of my favorite songs right now is "Night Castle"..I love the guitars and of course the lyric "stairways hidden behind curtains" haha), etc

25. Your feelings and beliefs about the holidays: They're exhausting, but fun too. The stores start putting out Christmas things earlier every year, it seems like O_o

Yikes!

Earlier my parents and I were having our regular Sunday strawberry milkshakes..we were by the pellet stove, and then dad walked over to the living room and said he saw a firetruck. Mom then walked over and must have said something about smoke, and then I came over, looked up and saw this:
601975767_33946336484964748_970978433907255447_n
Yikes! Mom said she saw flames, but it looked more like the sunset to me. We were worried someone was losing their house, right before Christmas..it was also -30, definitely not a good time for a fire. Mom and I bundled up and walked to the end of the street, where various first responder vehicles were. Here's a closer view:

601413869_33946336491631414_5119972817868723022_n
Up close, we could tell it wasn't the house that was burning, phew! Mom asked a (very handsome :P) firefighter who walked by about the fire, and he said it was a shed, and that all the people, animals and the house were safe. I'm not sure how the fire started, but they got pretty lucky. I'm always thankful for firefighters, they are amazing!

Curti loves rolling around on my clean sheets!
600181700_33866725969592467_6686471802746434843_n
He'll eat catnip, but it doesn't really do anything to him..clean sheets though? He's in heaven haha. He is an impressively long kitty too lol, wow :P

At work yesterday and Friday we were open until 7, but no one came in after 5:30, for both me and Bill..pointless staying open that late, but you can never know for certain. I won't be at work again until next year?? Oh my! It was definitely a crazy year for the bookstore, I hope 2026 is kinder!

Happy solstice! Tomorrow will be 7 seconds longer! :D

1. What brought you the most joy in 2025? If your answer this year is the same as it would have been last year, what brought you the second-most joy in 2025? Curti, going to Santa Fe in May, etc
2. What’s the best discovery you made in 2025? The song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night," Curti, the game Neko Atsume 2, etc
3. What’s the best feel-good story of 2025? The cat that was rescued after the Palisades Fire (since the fire, I keep seeing the word "Palisade"..weird lol). I definitely donated to the "get well" fund! Everything else has just been so negative :(
4. What was your best small win in 2025? If it’s the same as your answer to # 5 last week, what’s next on the list? Being able to say "have a good day!" to customers at work..out of nowhere I was able to say it. It gives good feelings to both me and the customers!
5. What was the kindest thing a stranger did for you in 2025? Hmm..maybe holding a door open for me? I'm too tired to think too deeply haha

This week was work's Christmas party..for some reason it was in the morning, so we wore pajamas and had breakfast (pancakes, eggs, etc). Like last year we did stocking stuffers, which was cool. They also brought cookies to decorate, but me and Juella had to leave to open the bookstore..still fun though! I have one more day of work and then I'm off until January 2. I definitely need a break, I'm so tired haha. The store has been busy though, yay! Lucie said she hired a new manager, who will start January 7th! I hope she's nice lol

1. At work or school, what tasks do (or did) you find strenuous, while everyone seemed to find them easy? Math, sports in PE, calling people on the phone, etc
2. Do you prefer difficult tasks that don’t take long, or easy tasks that take hours? Easy tasks (if I'm enjoying them, anyway)
3. What are the ideal conditions for doing your work (defined however you want) best? Knowing what I'm doing and being comfortable with it, and can do work without someone constantly watching me; supportive coworkers; etc
4. What kinds of tasks have you performed under the “other duties as needed” part of the job description? Trying to chip ice off the sidewalk (ugh), moving the bookstore location this summer (ughhh), etc
5. What other duties as needed are likely to fall to you in your personal life this week? Laundry, and I should probably neaten up my apartment haha. Maybe getting presents ready for Christmas too

It's been COLD this week, in the -20s and probably -30s in some places. It hurts to breathe when it's that cold! It was expected to warm up (-1, much better!) and snow overnight and today, but I was surprised by how MUCH snow I woke up to. We probably got at least a foot! It was kinda fun to walk in because it's light and fluffy. The Literacy Council and bookstore closed early because the visibilty was poor and Lucie wanted to make sure there was enough light for everyone to get home safely. Tomorrow it'll drop to -14 and next week will be in the -20s and -30s again..ugh. I'm sure Bill is glad he has a car now haha

There's a guy on Patreon who has been filming Cherry, Birdie and Wilson's Cape Crozier expedition (he's also writing a book!), and he just released a teaser trailer for part of the film:

OMG YESSS it looks SO good!!! (Poor Cherry and his frozen glasses haha.) I can't wait to watch the finished product! Thanks for keeping their memories alive! :D

Mom and I saw Wicked: For Good yesterday, and the first movie was definitely better. There were scenes where the characters were just..staring (either at something in the scene or at other characters) for like, 30 seconds, and the songs were so tedious! At least I was able to get my popcorn craving satisfied. :P I'm excited to see Project Hail Mary, I really liked the book!

1. If you were Santa Claus, what might you change about your job without destroying the season’s traditions? I'd go through some type of a portal instead of down the chimney haha
2. If you were Santa Claus, what snacks would you like children to leave out for you? Chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread men, brownies, etc
3. If you were Santa Claus, how would you spend December 26? Sleeping for a very long time, and giving the reindeer some extra pets :P
4. If you were Santa Claus, what would you put under your own tree? Books, cat shirts, gift cards, etc
5. If you were Santa Claus, what songs would be on the playlist you listened to in your sleigh Christmas Eve? "Wizards in Winter," "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo," "A Mad Russian's Christmas" (I miiight like Trans-Siberian Orchestra haha), "The 12 Pains of Christmas" (such a fun parody!), etc

This is Curti's "I want to play!" face
594582518_33661894986742234_1428724010948745768_n
He was looking at the laser pointer in my hand, he LOVES chasing the red dot haha (he's 1 year old this month, wow!!)

Yesterday at work Bill and Juella (the temporary manager) were talking about the move, and Bill said something about me taking time off in the middle of the move, and I chimed in and confirmed it because Shelby said everyone should take time off during the move, to get some rest so we're not overwhelmed. Juella was like "oh, Shelby said you guys blew them off and didn't come in!" WHAT!! I was there in the staff meeting when Shelby said to take time off and Vicki approved it ahead of time. Is that why they treat us so terribly?? That's a lie and SO messed up..everyone is definitely tired of Shelby and Lucie, ugh. At least today is another First Friday 50% off sale, where the bookstore is open until 8. Hopefully lots of people will come and do Christmas shopping!

I'm ALARMED at how many people I see wearing just a hoodie and jeans in below zero weather..that is so dangerous, what if your car breaks down, or somehow get stuck outside?? (Maybe they have extra clothes in their car, but still.) Wind chills as low as 55 below are expected in the next couple days. D: D: Good thing it's the weekend and mom can drive me to work, it would be awful standing outside in that!

Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau has officially receded from Mendenhall Lake
00_080623_AlaskaTourism_01_BeckyBohrer
So sad!! Poor glacier. :( I know it's part of the earth's natural cycle (we're coming out of an ice age still), but it's still sad. I'm glad I was able to see it before it receded. Here's a picture from 2019:
61225022_3381986631826468_715979844336222208_n
That was fun! I'm glad there are still some advancing glaciers like Meares..I'll probably cry if I hear that one starts retreating!

Speaking of crying..for the apartment complex I live in, I have to do a "recertification," where I have to tell them my income and stuff like that (it's online now, yay!). I noticed it still had Abby as my pet, so with a heavy heart I pressed delete, and a box came up that said something like "do you want to delete your pet Abby from the form?" OMG. 😿😿 They definitely need to reword that, ouch!! I felt like I had been punched, my grief reawakened, and cried after I went to bed. So painful! I will always miss her, she was amazing <3

The snow is here, but by Friday it's supposed to get to -19. D: Alaska's weather seems to enjoy being extreme LOL

2. Did you ever have an imaginary friend? )
glacier_kitty: (Default)
The Mill House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji (Oct 31-Nov 3). A great Japanese locked-in mystery, with a good plot twist at the end!

Eruption by Michael Crichton and James Patterson (Nov 4-8). Ah, James Patterson finally roped me into reading one of his books LOL. I wonder how many other unfinished manuscripts Crichton has out there, I think this is the third?? I don't know how scientifically accurate the book is, but it was ridiculous..SO many characters died from doing stupid things (you're rowing TOWARDS the lava?? You're flying a helicopter straight into volcanic ash??!). It was entertaining at least :P

How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin (Nov 9-12). The mansion in this one had a couple four-poster beds in it haha, nice :D

The Impossible Fortune by Richard Osman (Nov 14-19). The new Thursday Murder Club mystery! Unfortunately it wasn't as good as the others in the series (probably my least favorite), but was still entertaining

SOS North Pacific by Gordon R. Newell (Nov 20-24). Lots of shipwrecks in the North Pacific! I was glad it mentioned the Princess Sophia, I saw artifacts from the ship when I went to Juneau in 2019!

66 Days Adrift: A True Story of Disaster and Survival on the Open Sea by William A. Butler (Nov 25-30). This book was SO repetitive (his wife saying "we're going to die. I hate you, Butler! You're evil!," battling sharks end horny turtles LOL, praying endlessly, in EVERY chapter), but it is amazing what humans can survive! (Weirdly, this one and the previous one both mentioned how "Pacific" is a misnomer for a crazy ocean..what are the chances of that?)

I can't believe the year is almost over already. O_o Somehow time just keeps getting faster and faster!

A big snowstorm is coming, with a possibility of mixed precipitation and snow
accumulations between 3 and 7 inches..ewww. I hope the bus system posts online somewhere whether the buses are running or not..

Dec 1. What do you want to be remembered for? )

593443062_33609192735345793_2237287877413832274_n
So Christmasy! I can't believe how big he is now, he's very heavy haha. He was naughty and somehow pushed the giant turkey plate off the table, which shattered on the floor! He's not allowed on the table, but does it anyway to get attention :P

It may start getting dark at 2 or 3 PM now, but the sunrises/sunsets are great!
589570862_33593299353601798_6013804437111059238_n
So pretty!

For the past three or so weeks my pleasant, regular bus driver was replaced with a VERY unpleasant lady, who hated everyone and everything and barely even looked at you when you got on the bus. She kicked off my friend who asked if she could be let on the bus because it was cold..she LOST it and was like "I HAD TO TO THE BATHROOM!!! I DON'T WANT TO BE IN A BAD MOOD BECAUSE OF YOU!! Don't tell me how to do my job! Get off my bus!" Awful. D: I could just feel the bad vibes coming off of her (there have been lots of complaints about her, but apparently won't fire her because they're short on drivers). Finally this week the regular driver came back and when I got on I said "nice to see you!" and he said "thank you!" The atmosphere on the bus was totally changed and everyone was super happy lol. He is definitely appreciated!

Work was pretty busy yesterday, yay! Velma Wallace (author of Two Old Women, Bird Girl, etc) came in and did some Christmas shopping lol

1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood? Chlorine, mac and cheese, pizza, mothballs, apple juice, etc
2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have? Hmmm..pogs, maybe? I wonder what happened to them, I haven't seen them in a long time haha
3. What elementary grade was your favorite? 5th..my teacher was cool and we got to take care of the class Guinea pigs!
4. What summer do you remember the best as a child? It's all kinda mixed up..lots of swimming, walks in the woods, traveling, etc over the years
5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age? Don't be controlling, be patient! After 10 or so, when I'd be able to understand the concept

On Wednesday we had our Thanksgiving meal at work..it's not the same anymore since we're not in the same building, and some people I barely know, but the food was still really good! Lucie put up signs with everyone's name on them, and told us to write something you're thankful for for each person..I didn't get a chance to read all of mine, but someone wrote "outgoing" on mine. Uhhh..what?? That's probably the first time someone has described me that way haha, must have been one of the new employees. :P Yesterday was a lazy day at my parents house..I've been SO full these last couple days haha, definitely a food coma. :P Lucie gave Bill and I the option of working on Saturday, and we both said sure because long weekends can get boring haha. Hopefully customers will come in lol (thankfully, it's gotten busier since we've been taking donations and getting new books out, yay! I love how loyal people in Fairbanks are!)

nov 22-28 )

1. What's your favourite TV network? Does Netflix/Amazon Prime count?
2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be? I'd go to glaciers, and find four-poster beds and curtains throughout the world LOL
3. What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back? I really liked Impact: Stories of Survival..I've always been fascinated with survival stories..
4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show? Arrested Development
5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD? I'm still waiting to find Here Come the Brides haha..Bobby Sherman was so cool, I was sad to hear he died in June :(

I'm not sure why it took so long, but we finally got a picture of the bookstore's grand opening from last summer!
587382192_33490863967178671_7871721631186250191_n
There's me, Amanda (the manager for like a month), Ron (a summer volunteer), Lucie, Adam (without a mask OR hat, an incredibly rare occurrence!), Shelby (huge scissors!), Bill, some guy from the Chamber of Commerce maybe, Jim (he finds vinyl records to sell in the store. They're super popular!), and Chris (a volunteer who usually shelves books). Yay! We did get a bunch of donations on Saturday, but most of them have been shelved already. It was really nice seeing new (to us) books again!

Yesterday at the bus stop a guy walked up, and then a lady walked over, who looked super drugged out (her teeth were definitely rotten D:), and the guy started yelling at her and calling her bad names (apparently it's her fault his hands were cold??). The lady came up to me and said "would you like to help me bury a dead body?" Ummm no thank you. O__o I was so happy when the bus finally drove up, I was so uncomfortable! I have made a couple friends though, two ladies who work next door at the Salvation Army. It's fun talking to them for the short ride and walk to work!

1. What do you see when you are looking out of the window closest to you? A house, trees
2. Who was the last person who came into your room? Besides myself, maybe mom?
3. What is the most predominant colour around you? White, with blue mixed in
4. What is right behind you? A pillow and a wall
5. What is on today's calendar sheet? I worked, and now I'm relaxing at my parents' house. How is it Friday already??

Curti put his front paws on one of my bedposts, which touched the lights I have around it (he chewed the cord, so they don't work anymore *sniff*), and they lit up for a second or two! It was really cool! That's definitely when you know it's dry in Fairbanks :P

Another big donation day tomorrow at the bookstore! I hope we get LOTS of cool "new" books, everyone's beyond tired of looking at the ones that have been on the shelf since we moved haha. On Halloween, a kid recognized me from the bookstore, and a regular customer came in today and said one of her kids recognized me..I was like "that was your kid??" I was busy handing out candy and didn't get a good look at her. Her mom said one of her relatives lives on a nearby street, how cool! Definitely a small big state :P

Bold what you've read, italicize what you intend to read, and underline what you loved.

1. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
2. The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
4. Harry Potter series - JK Rowling (they were a part of my childhood, it's too hard to decide to dislike them :/)
5. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee (it was good, but I don't think I LOVED it..)
6. The Bible (it scared me)
7. Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
8. 1984 - George Orwell (I read ahead of the class with this one haha)
9. His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman (they were interesting, but not a fan of God getting killed at the end D:)
10. Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
11. Little Women - Louisa M. Alcott
12. Tess of the D'Urbervilles - Thomas Hardy
13. Catch 22 - Joseph Heller

18. Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger
19. The Time Traveller's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
20. Middlemarch - George Eliot
21. Gone With The Wind - Margaret Mitchell

580977810_33275661072032296_8441821296457361645_n
They're covering up an ugly corner. The bookstore just wasn't the same without curtains (I have my cat curtain from the other building hanging on a shelf thing, but it still wasn't quite the same), so I was very glad when a volunteer put those up haha

Here's me and Jane (a volunteer) in front of them
578744797_33275660648699005_8081548529750236992_n

The bookstore was indeed busy when I got there yesterday! (I could have done without the screaming kids though. D:) There was a lull and then in the last hour it got busy again. I heard a customer say "I love this place!" I really missed that the move has been hard on customers too! We made $700 something, not too bad, with most things being 50% off. Today was pretty busy too, yay! Hopefully we've turned a corner and get customer satisfaction again lol (we're taking donations again next Saturday, so that should help too!) I'm not sure how Bill and I survived the bleak summer, both of us were on the edge of quitting! Guess we're stubborn haha

Suddenly, after 2 or 3 years, Ryan is making fancy desserts again! He just made this cake:

Friday Five

Nov. 7th, 2025 12:42 pm
glacier_kitty: (Default)
1. Under what circumstances might you deliberately fail at a task you were perfectly capable of completing? Tiredness
2. Under what circumstances might you choose to completely cut off contact with a family member you currently love and respect? If they hurt me or Curti
3. Under what circumstances might you willingly give up every piece of modern technology you own and move to an off-grid location? Maybe if some apocalyptic thing happened, and it wasn't safe anywhere else (I'd definitely need someone else with me though lol)
4. Under what circumstances might you leave your job to take work paying half as much? If I was backstabbed or hurt in some other way
5. Under what circumstances might you agree to live the rest of your life without ever using spoken language again? Not sure..

Today at the bookstore we're trying a First Friday event, where most everything in the store is 50% off, and we're going to be open until EIGHT instead of 5:30! I get the 4-8 shift, because Bill definitely doesn't need to be riding his bike in the dark lol. The store has been dead all week, so I hope it's busy today!

The Winter Walk: A Century-Old Survival Story from the Arctic by Loretta Outwater Cox (Sept 29-Oct 1)

The Butcher Bird by S.D. Sykes (Oct 2-8). The second in the Somershill Mysteries..I gave the first one to Becky and she bought the rest of the series and gave then them to me when she was done (both of us like historical mysteries). I love when the characters mention their bed curtains haha

City of Masks by S.D. Sykes (Oct 8-14)

The Bone Fire by S.D. Sykes (Oct 15-21). A "locked castle" mystery! Definitely one of my favorites in the series

The Good Death by S.D. Sykes (Oct 22-27). Please write more!! I hate when a good book series ends lol

The White Voyage by John Christopher (Oct 27-30). One of the characters' last name was "Mouritzen," so similar to my last name!

There were lots of trick-or-treaters in my parents' neighborhood last night! A Chinook came and made it pretty warm out, and the kids definitely took advantage of that (I felt bad they were getting soaked in the rain though). One person saw me and was like "you work at Forget-Me-Not [Books]!" Nice :P

Mom told me I'd remember my debit card's old PIN as soon as I went to a credit card reader, and she was right..I like my new PIN better, but I'm glad I'm not losing my mind haha

nov 1. Three things you're grateful for )
glacier_kitty: (Default)
1. When did someone make you an offer you couldn’t refuse? We have an interim Bookstore Manager at work, who has volunteered the past two or three years, and she's very good with processes and organizing, so she'd helped out a LOT this week (someone said she was rude and bossy at another job, but she's been great at the bookstore, thanking us for all our hard work). One thing I was like "YES" to was having my own cart (I shelve the fiction and DVDs/CDs) that no one else shelves from. Couldn't say no to that, I hate when other people shelve and mess the sections up lol
2. How do you feel about Italian food? SO good haha
3. When did you last attend a wedding? 2020, my cousin Jordan's
4. What do you know about organized crime in your city? Nothing, but I see what I assume are gang signs graffitied in various places
5. If you’ve been to Las Vegas, how did you like it? If you haven’t, how do you imagine you’d like it? I feel like it would be loud and flashy and lively lol

Here are Curti's pawprints in the snow!
569797730_33011913661740373_3270512018472857664_n
He was not a fan :P (he's way too smart, he somehow knew today was the day we go to my parents' house, and stayed under the bed instead of greeting me when I came home. I had to lure him out with a laser pointer, which he LOVES..I can hide it from him and press the button on it, and he'll immediately be like "I know that sound!! Where is it??" haha)

Because I love lists, here are the songs I've picked up on Shazam so far! (I'm loving this app!)
"Immigrant Song"-Led Zeppelin (I was testing out the app and just picked a song that came to mind lol)
"Holiday"-Green Day
"When You Were Young"-The Killers
"Nutshell"-Alice in Chains
"Helena"-My Chemical Romance
"But Not Tonight"-Depeche Mode
"Lovesong"-The Cure
"The Killing Moon"-Echo & the Bunnymen
"Party Train"-The Gap Band
"Only You"-Yaz

1. Have you ever stayed in a hostel? If so, where? Did you like it? If you haven't stayed in a hostel, would you? No and probably not, I don't think I'd enjoy it..
2. What is your favorite airport that you've been to? Why? DFW (nostalgic), SeaTac (good stores and restaurants!), etc
3. What is the best museum you have visited on vacation? London's Natural History Museum, the Scott Polar Research Institute, the HMS Victory in England, etc
4. Have you ever made friends while traveling whom you keep in touch with on a regular basis? I've made friends, but we eventually fell out of touch :(
5. Have you ever had a conversation with a seatmate on a plane? Yes..one time I saw the person at work about a week after I got back home! Alaska is a small big state :P

The weirdest thing happened..a couple days ago I tried paying with my debit card, but couldn't remember the PIN, even though I've used it for years! Jo covered for me (thanks!), but I just thought it so weird I suddenly couldn't remember! I thought I'd remember it when I went to bed or something, but no..it was like someone had deleted it from my brain! SO weird! Today I went to the bank to change it to something I definitely would remember. I'm still very weirded out by the whole thing though O_o (maybe I used all my brainpower trying to think of that one song LOL :P)

I'm sooo tired of the gloomy rainy/snowy weather Fairbanks has had for the last few months..very unusual! It's making me grumpy lol..I really want to travel somewhere, but it may not be best right now with the government shutdown stuff. I'd like to go to Powell's in Portland someday, it sounds epic :P

Last night I didn't feel super great..super anxious, migrainey, felt like I might be coming down with something, and I just could NOT get to sleep. You'd think I'd know by now to take Excedrin right away instead of laying awake for hours in pain haha. When I finally did take some, the migraine was gone in about 10-15 minutes..that stuff is amazing! I still didn't sleep super great, but at least the migraine was gone. :P This morning, when I went out to wait for the bus, little snowflakes were starting to fall. By the time I got to work, which only takes a couple minutes, the flakes were bigger and starting to stick. Soon the flakes were HUGE, which looked cool! I really don't appreciate being a human barometer LOL, the first big snowstorm is always the worst. At least I felt a lot better, even though I didn't sleep well. Here's a picture I found on Facebook:

Instant winter!! I wish I had taken a picture, but I was busy working lol. The giant flakes were very cool!

Yesterday, out of nowhere, I had part of a song come into my head, something about the moon/moonlight..I knew that would be pretty much impossible to search online, since so many songs have moon/moonlight in the lyrics, and the only other thing I remembered was that it was old..I tried searching, but it was as hard looking as I thought it was going to be. It was driving me crazy haha, and I tried thinking about a tiny bit more of the song, but it kept escaping my grasp! It was only after I went to bed (yeah that didn't help my sleep either lol) that the tiny bit more of the song came into my head, and then I thought "huh..there's stuttering in that song, isn't there?" and that's when I FINALLY remembered what song it was, and jumped out of bed to see if I was correct (I was lol). The song is called "K-K-K-Katy" ("when the m-m-m-moon shines, over the cow shed, I'll be waiting at the k-k-k-kitchen door"), which was first released in 1918! I have no idea why it popped into my head though, I hadn't listened to it since probably last year! (I was probably looking for songs with stuttering in them lol.) I'm glad I was able to think of it though, those kind of things drive me crazy :P
