LOVE it haha! Edguy is so funny. :P Is it just me or does Tobi as Robin Hood look like Heath Ledger?

Awesome!! \m/ Iced Earth's new singer is awesome so far (and yummy!). The band looks strong in this video. It seems like they change their singer on every album haha

Today Nina came over and talked to me about options (since I was so upset last week). She said I don't HAVE to get a job..like I could volunteer and go to school or work and volunteer too. She wants what I want. I feel soo much better..what would I do without her??

Day 8- A picture of the best moment of your life )

Would you rather have to dangle from a 1,000 foot cliff on a rope tied to a tree and choose to tie the knot yourself or trust an Eagle Scout with a knot tying merit badge to tie it? Well obviously the second one haha

Today's trivia: There are at least 34 shark species in the Gulf of Mexico

There was another earthquake last night..it was a 3.8. The strongest so far! It sounds like a train is going next to your house. I think that one got Abby's attention haha. It was the number one topic at work too. :P Maybe the hills want to grow higher haha

Abby has tapeworms so I'm gonna take her to the vet after work tomorrow..there's actually a vet's office going into the hills so that's nice. I have a counseling appointment on Friday too

"Theater of Salvation" by Edguy is an AWESOME song..

fun convo with dana :D )

Slavic: On the Russian Orthodox calendar, the twelve-day period after Christmas Day during which people visit and entertain each other. Gifts are exchanged on Twelfth Night, Jan. 6. Slavic is widely observed in areas of Alaska that still follow the Russian Orthodox faith, particularly along the lower Kuskokwim River

One of the restaurants in Fairbanks burned down! It must have happened after I got home cause I go by the restaurant on the way home and it was fine. I had never eaten there but mom told me the food wasn't good. Everyone got out ok and they plan to rebuild. I'll have to see what it looks like now when I go to work tomorrow (or if I go to town today)

Yesterday I bought HammerFall's new CD, "No Sacrifice, No Victory" (well pre-ordered), "Reckoning Night" by Sonata Arctica, "The Dark Saga" by Iced Earth, "Theater of Salvation" by Edguy and "Damnation Game" by Symphony X. I hadn't bought CDs in awhile haha

walking on the frozen river! )

Fish wheel: A fish wheel is a set of arms with scoops at the end, mounted on a raft and anchored in a river. The current pushing against the arms forces them to rotate, and they reach in turn to the river and scoop up fish. Fish wheels are used on the Copper and Yukon rivers, and on some Yukon tributaries

Today's stupidest quote: ESPN said Owens told the Eagles on Monday that his ankle was in great pain and is in the same right leg he broke against the Cowboys on December 19 (from an MSNBC Sports article, regarding Terrell Owens of the Philadelphia Eagles)
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Yesterday I ordered Edguy's new CD, "Tinnitus Sanctus." The other two I ordered went to Texas cause I changed the billing address to Fairbanks but not the shipping address..oops. :P Dad called me and was like "did you send me presents?" haha

It's -17 in Fairbanks right now..up here last I saw it was -6. It got clear so that could be why it's so cold..

Today's stupidest quote: Even a broken clock's right twice a year (sportscaster Rex Chapman, covering an NBA playoff game between the Seattle Supersonics and the Sacramento Kings)

One day months ago I entered this picture (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/ShinyItaly/Europe%202006/DSCN0412.jpg) in a photo contest and named it Shiny Waters...and now it's published in a picture book. Should I be a photopgrapher for a living? Haha

I got clothes mom sent me yesterday..PJs and pants. The pants (at least the ones I'm wearing now) are tight around the waist..man. Mom also said it was -30 and -40 there...OMG

The Edguy CD came..it's a promotional CD and it's illegal to sell..*shifts eyes*

It's amusing when mom says "Lucaaaaa" ;)

I listened to my new Edguy and Avantasia CDs yesterday...they're pretty good! I dunno what's with Tobi's singing in Vain Glory Opera (the CD). It's like...olden days like. It sounds odd

I've had a big craving for Mi Patio since I was in Europe and mom said we could go today or tomorrow...sweeet

I made my userpic...it's Luca ;)

Dana you rule :)

Today's Latin: ad nauseam (to the point of disgust or revulsion)

"Go all the way to the tower, long for the secrets behind. Go all the way to the tower! Find out the name of the one who reigns from inside"--"The Tower," Avantasia
glacier_kitty: (Default)
My Luca, Avantasia and Edguy CDs came yesterday...I listened to Luca's...it's dissapointing! The woman singer sounds like a pop singer and sounds horrible singing together with Olaf (who doesn't sound like himself most of the time). The CD would be almost perfect if the woman singer wasn't there! Luca's guitar and keyboard solos are amazing though...you know immediately when he's playing the keyboard cause it's so fast. And the Latin opera. *dies* My favorite songs are Pyramids and Stargates (one song) and Secrets of the Forgotten Ages

Later I have to go to the orthodontist to finally get out that retainer thingy that was pulling that one tooth up

I have now seen all episodes of season one of ER...yay! Not sure what my favorite episode from season one is though...

Today's Latin: circa (approximately)

"I was your knight, holding you tight as a brother when I saw your crying eyes. Time went by and we had to say goodbye"--"Farewell," Avantasia
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Rhapsody changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire...it sounds like a classical song haha. It's an alright name...I would've preferred Epic Rhapsody ;)

Oooh...I bought a looot of CDs yesterday. I got Genesis, Frank's DVD, Avantasia-The Metal Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame soundtrack, Edguy-Vain Glory Opera, Infinite Wonders of Creation-Luca Turilli, and Lost Horizons-Luca Turilli's Dreamquest (it'll be released in a few days). Now I gotta wait till they get here and chase UPS trucks down the street! Haha ;)

I had a dream it was snowing here in July...why on earth? It's like...100 degrees almost every day

Today's Latin: melius tarde, quam nunquam (better late than never)

more frank captions! )

"The pied piper played the song, beautiful but strong. He was never born, never he'll be gone"--"The Piper Never Dies," Edguy

Tomorrow I have to retake the math TAKS. A few days ago I had a dream I took the test and it was easy...I hope it'll be easy!

The music of POTC 2 is awesomeeee...it's way better than the first movie!! Hans Zimmer composed the music to the second movie...I think he did Black Hawk Down's music too. He's much better than Klaus Badelt, who did the first movie's music. I've also listened to some of Hellfire Club by Edguy...it's sooo good! The guitars in King of Fools are awesome!

travelog of italy! )

Today's Latin: Mea culpa (my fault). That got Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame stuck in my head (the background singers sing mea culpa)

"And still I carry on and I will forever, cause when I see you smile I dare to believe again"--"Forever," Edguy

Yesterday my hair was cut...3-4 inches...mom originally wanted to just get it trimmed and then she wanted to cut it up to my layers cause they look bad with long hair. It's now kinda past my shoulders. I shall post a pic. I find it scary Kathryn got her hair cut yesterday too

I passed algebra 2 with a 70!! Yay me! I got a 63 on the final...and I still passed the class! NO MORE MATH CLASSES TILL COLLEGE, WHOOOO!!!!

"Someone is out there, he's watching what I do from far in the distance, his eyes everywhere"--"Dethrone Tyranny," Gamma Ray
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Man we've been watching depressing things in US history...two days ago we watched something on the assisination of JFK and today we watched about how this 14 year old black guy got beaten up horribly and murdered cause he whistled at a white lady. Yeah...don't you just love America? *cough* They showed pics of his face *shivers* It'll haunt me forever. How can people be so cruel?!

I've listened to all of the Edguy CD and it's sooo good!! The Gamma Ray CD has lotsa the songs Heather sent...from the ones I haven't heard I've listened to My Temple and Condemned to Hell...awesome songs!!

Emily and I finished our Latin project!! We have to present it tomorrow

This week's House was two parts and it was very suspenceful, sad, depressing and creepy...

This Saturday is the train ride in Dallas with People to People. I find it cruel the station name has 'bell' in it...

Today's Latin: ita, semel et solum vobis permissum est (so, once and only for you is it permitted)

"Waiting for tomorrow when the sorrows disappear, look into the future from the center of my fears"--"My Temple," Gamma Ray
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Judas at the Opera by Edguy is an AWESOME song!!! It's so amusing! I've also listened to Blessing in Disguise (it's alright) and I'm sending Spooks in the Attic to Kathryn now. Edguy is so epic

I'm not even gonna go into how annoying my computer has been...and I was picked up from school way late...but I saw the librarian from McKamy! She remembered and recognized me!! She was so happy to see me and she said she'd tell the other librarian she saw me! Yay!!

I dunno if I'll be online tomorrow cause my partner for my Latin project (her name's Emily) is coming over to work on it with me. Man I'm stressed about it

Today's Latin: auscultate mihi! Ad vos loquor (pay attention! I'm speaking to you)

"Darkness has covered the opera house, something is wrong you can tell"--"Judas at the Opera," Edguy

I saw United 93 yesterday...it's about what happened on 9/11, mostly through the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania...it was sooo sad! I also got Superheroes by Edguy, Majesty by Gamma Ray, and the Star Wars 3 soundtrack...I'm waiting to listen with Kathryn...I dunno when she'll be back. I miss her so much...

I got to see the rest of Awakenings yesterday...it was sad!

Exodus is my favorite episode of ER so far...Carter is sooo awesome!!! I got to see it again yesterday...there was a chemical spill and infected guys coming in and there's major chaos and Carter handles it all. At the end you can see the pride in his face when everything is fine again. This is the episode where I really started to like Carter

I'm going to Scarborough Faire later...yay!

Today's Latin: status quo (the state in which). My dad says that all the time...I KNEW IT WAS LATIN!

"Resurrecting paradise, cry for freedom. Killing pain, a million lies, dethrone tyranny"--"Dethrone Tyranny," Gamma Ray
glacier_kitty: (Default)
So my mom and I drove to Ft. Worth and I put in Edguy and turned it up a little and looked out the window a sec...and then suddenly it was turned up really loud and I'm like "...mom??" Then she was headbanging and singing and playing air guitar (while driving!!) and I've never seen her do that before. I think she liked Tears of A Mandrake and Save Us Now the most. We ate at a Mexican restaraunt and I had a virgin margarita...yummy...we sat outside in a beautiful huge courtyard and the temperature was perfect and the food was good...yay! Then we went to mom's work for an hour or so and I got online and listened to music and then we went home

I met Kathryn's friend Rainy ([livejournal.com profile] swirly_girly4) yesterday and she's sooo awesome!! Kathryn says she's depressed and all and she said I made Rainy happy which was harder then I think...man I make people happy without even realizing it!
