FAIRBANKS — Summer is here, and it’s even a bit ahead of schedule this year.

The temperature at Fairbanks International Airport hit 70 degrees for the first time on Wednesday, a milestone that should kick off a significant stretch of warm weather in the Interior.

The first 70-degree day came a week early, compared to the average arrival on May 20. However, it didn’t quite get to the record of 76 degrees, set in 1930.

National Weather Service meteorologist Ben Bartos said a ridge of warm weather is heading into Interior Alaska and the Yukon, bringing rising temperatures with it. The forecast calls for weekend temperatures in the mid- to high 70s, with only slightly cooler weather forecast after that.

Temperatures could possibly hit 80 degrees this weekend in the Eastern Interior, with the hottest areas between Tok and the Canada border.

“It’s hanging on for the foreseeable future,” Bartos said.

Wow, it got warm fast! I hope it doesn't get in the 80s though, it makes my apartment feel like an oven. D: I'm really thankful the pollen has been mild too, last year mom and I were so miserable..

I'm listening to the new Kamelot album, I'm really enjoying it so far, especially "Citizen Zero" :D

OMG awesome..I like!! Very nice choice for the new singer! I just got the new CD..sounds promising so far! I've heard some new ones lately that were just awful/boring..like Nightwish and Luca Turilli's Rhapsody. When I looked in the CD booklet I saw that Luca was their Latin consultant! That is awesome haha

Aaah when I write long posts I tend to forget things..at the concert Roy invited two people up to the stage and said he was gonna sing "Love You to Death" and then the guy asked the girl to marry her! Awwww hehe. He also sang the ballad "Abandoned"..so beautiful..people actually used their cigarette lighters for "reverence" or something. I also heard about a most pit but didn't see it. I also bought their album "Karma" (online). And I have a video

I have a math test tomorrow..I made stupid mistakes on my review :P

The place for the concert wasn't that hard to find..I hung out and observed the stage lights and then this band that started with an A came onstage..I was uncomfortable at first. Someone actually said "get off the stage, you blow!" Their last song was like..15 minutes long. There was another wait and then Leaves' Eyes came on..they were somewhat good actually. There was a song that sounded like "Captain" that I liked. I tried to get to near the front of the stage but the people were packed. Then there was mooore waiting for Kamelot. I commiserated with the short people on how it was hard to see haha. During the break I went to the left corner of the stage and I was ONE people-row away from the front..but then the guy in front of me moved and I was at the front of the stage! I was actually right next to the speakers haha..I was getting somewhat naucious from the cigarette smoke and the heat but then Kamelot came on..whoa haha. Not sure what the first song was but the second one was "When the Lights are Down"..WHOOO YEAH that was SO AWESOME..I sang and sort of headbanged and "danced" in a way. The stage lights were pretty cool too. Roy Khan got sweaty in about 5 seconds haha. They also played "Soul Society," "The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)," "The Human Stain"..but then during the rest I didn't really know what songs they were doing so I couldn't sing along. BUT I TOUCHED ROY KHAN. AND the bassist noticed me! I did \m/ to him and he pointed at me haha. There was a drum solo..whoa fast haha. I was getting naucious again and thought about going to the back so I could see them that way but my spot was so great and I wanted to touch Roy again (oh be quiet :P haha) so I stayed. I think the encore was March of Mephisto? It was the last song on the setlist..(I don't have one but someone else did and I looked at their's). The concert ended at like..12 something and I went to the next door gas station to wait for dad and people from the concert went there too..a short person I talked to AND the person behind me who told Roy it was someone's birthday and their friends..such nice people! The guys too! I don't feel like an outcast with metal people! The worker at the gas station said she talked to Roy..wow haha. Dad said I smelled like cigarettes when he picked me up :P

one: I have Asperger syndrome (a form of autism) and proud of it!
two: I can't swallow pills
three: I can't drive
four: Reading 800 page books isn't a big deal to me

seven: I have ptosis, which caused by eyelids to go halfway over my eyes and had to look up to see when I was a baby..I've had two surgeries to fix it..rubber bands or something are holding up my eyelids..it can cause me to sleep with my eyes open haha

Sleeping over at Caitlin's was fun! We watched Alexander first...she didn't really like it except for the battle of Gaugamela...she was all like "CHARGE!! FIGHT!! YEAAAH!!" We also watched Scary Movie 1 and 3 and most of Star Wars 2. We also walked to Grapevine Lake (in the dark) and has SoBe while sitting on rocks listening to the waves and the moonlight glinting on the water...it felt so good. We ate out at Chili's. We went to bed at...10! I dunno why we were so tired...I hardly slept at all cause Caitlin fell asleep in like 10 seconds and was snoring the entire night. Ah well. This morning she made me a smoothie and it was yummy. I got picked up at 11...mom and I got water then I packed for Florida...and here I am! I smell like Caitlin's house now...

My exams yesterday were SO EASY!!! I GOT A 100 ON MY US HISTORY EXAM!!!!! I got a 71 on my algebra 2 exam, 64 on Latin (meh I thought so...it was hard!) and a 64 on my TAKS one (stupid math!!). Mom said she's taking me to Mi Patio...I don't think I've ever gotten a 100 on a test...

I also heard Descent of the Archangel by Kamelot...OMG it's soooo awesome!! Luca's solo is amazing!! I definitely need the album Epica

So I've been sending songs to Kathryn and listening to them with her...it's very addictive and fun! It's cool to think what she thinks of the songs and all. I'm gonna send her everything of my music since she seems to like almost all the songs I send her...right now I'm sending Blind Guardian songs and she's becoming obsessed. ;) Before she met me she didn't like metal at all...now she likes Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, Kamelot...and I send her classical songs too...

I have to get my hair trimmed later...I want more layers too...

I have an algebra test tomorrow *is scared*

Sorry for my harsh words yesterday friend...I shouldn't write entries when I'm mad...ooooh but guess what peoples?! I'M GOING TO SEE NARNIA AT 1!!!!! Now the commercials and all won't torture me anymore! I'm also gonna but a CD (or maybe more)...but the only money I have is a $100 bill...the cash register guy would look at me like I'm insane or something...I want Epica by Kamelot and Vain Glory Opera by Edguy...are they good? I've never heard them before. Any other CD's you'd reccomend?

I watched my TSO DVD yesterday...it's really good! It was amusing actually watching the guitarists up close. And Micheal Crawford sang on one song...he held this note for like a minute...he did that on the POTO CD too...MC is why Kathryn sings...powerful man ;)

Tomorrow's the first day of 2006...*has to get used to writing dates '06'*
