Yesterday Aunt Gina and I went "lake hopping" haha. There are 4 lakes around here but we only had time for 3. Then we went back to the hotel and mom came back soon after. We drove to Norman, had dinner, and drove to the college. Emily was waiting for me and we hung out for a couple of hours. She showed me around the campus, her dorm and we walked down to the river. I had to leave cause there was a storm and mom didn't want to get caught in it. Some of the lightning was sweet haha..it wasn't a bad storm though

Fairbanks: The largest city in interior Alaska began as a trading post in 1901. A year later, a gold strike spawned a boom town. It was named for a then-powerful US senator named Charles Fairbanks, who was later Teddy Roosevelt's vice president. Fairbanks serves as a transportation and shipping hub and government center for the Interior, and is home to one of the major campuses of the University of Alaska. Residents of the Fairbanks area, who number nearly eighty thousand, think of all other Alaskans as Outsiders

Yesterday mom and I went to the science museum. We went to the planetarium and watched a show on the planets and then went to the Imax type theater and watched something on the Grand Canyon and how the Colorado River is dying. It even mentioned GLACIERS haha (and showed a picture!). Aunt Gina met us at the museum. We looked around more and went to dinner and walked by the river

I'm gonna hopefully meet up with Emily today! She goes to college in Norman so she's close by. We've been talking on Myspace but haven't seen each other in person for awhile

Eyak: These Indians, related to the Athabaskans, lived along the coast at the mouth of the Copper River. Both the language and the people have almost vanished, absorbed by the neighboring Tlingit and Pacific Yupik cultures and hard hit by white settlement

Yesterday (Latin) Emily and I saw Harry Potter 5! Been waiting all summer haha..Harry was all angsty..and poor Sirius *tear* I felt like they left stuff out during this one transition scene cause it didn't exactly make sense (I haven't read the book yet). Then we went back to Emily's house (I was sleeping over) and we watched Sharpe's Siege and had strawberry banana smoothies. Her parents are awesome haha. Her mom invited me to church with them! I may be uncomfortable and not know what to do but oh well haha. Emily has this HUGE cat and small dog..yay pets haha

glacier_kitty: (chaaaarlieee)
There's this guy at lunch who always sits alone and it was making me concerned so today I talked to him...maaan it was haaard. He said it didn't bother him to sit alone but Emily, Andrea (her friend) and I sat with him anyway. I wanted to talk to him more but I was too shy. He's nice haha

This year's area Latin competition was sooo much more fun than last year...probably cause I actually have friends. We drove there and Emily and I looked at sights...when we got to Sherman there were these two AWESOME churches but I couldn't get a good pic of them. The school seemed kinda poor but they had A LOT of stage lights. We went to the auditorium for opening ceremonies and then took our tests. OMG mottoes was sooo hard! I hardly knew anything haha and I was sure I wouldn't win anything. Latin derviatives was better. After the tests I saw a room called the little theater and went inside and they announced Monty Python and the Holy Grail was gonna be shown in the little theater. Haha so we watched it and then had lunch and sat around for awhile. I brought the Movies in 15 Minutes book and people loved it. Then we looked at the art people made (some was really good) and then watched Anchorman...we walked in during the middle of it though. I need to see the beginning haha. Then we watched certamin (Latin jeopardy). Then we hung out some more and then it was time for the award ceremonies. I was freaking out before it started cause the stage lights were changing colors haha. I was sure I wouldn't win anything BUT I WON SECOND PLACE IN MOTTOES FOR LATIN 4!!! Wow I must be a good guesser! Now I can go to state for FREE! YAY! Then we drove home and I ate something and went to bed (it was 8:30 something haha!). And now for pics! I also took a video which I'll upload...it's funny haha

videte! videte! )

Today's Latin: edepol, utinam hi parietes veteres dicere possint (boy, if these walls could talk). Yesterday's Latin: insanus omnis furere credit ceteros (every madman thinks everyone else is mad)

glacier_kitty: (Default)
I listened to my Tyr CD yesterday...it's sooo boring!! You lose interest in the songs fast and I don't like the singer's voice. There were some songs that weren't in English and I kinda liked them. I wonder if their other CS sound similar..

I'm reading a book series called the Sharpe series (they're also movies with Sean Bean). There are tooons of books in the series...they're very good so far. I'm on the Fifth one I think (Sharpe's Sword). The fourth one had a huge siege...sieges fascinate me for some reason. Emily introduced them to me

Today's Latin: propudium parcissimum (I'll get the check)

"We fought against oppression and wisdom was our sword, on the path of glory we searched the rainbows end"--"Wings of Destiny," Gamma Ray

Eragon!

Emily and I saw Eragon yesterday...it was good! I didn't remember much from the book but as the movie progressed I did. The end battle was epic. During the previews I saw a preview for Epic Movie...OMG it's looks sooo funny!! It parodies epic movies. There was one for Shrek 3 (awesome! haha), Evan Almighty (a sequel to Bruce Almighty), and A Night at The Museum (wanna see that). I also bought the Star Wars Episode 1 soundtrack...it's good so far

The Friday five hasn't updated yet..

Today's Latin: nonne amicus certus in re incerta cernitur (the sure friend is percieved in insure situations)

"Step out of line and I'll teach you how to fly, then away we'll go, leave your mark, land of mine"--"Fly," Blind Guardian
glacier_kitty: (Default)
My Latin and English exams were today...Latin was kinda hard (but it was multiple choice!! This has been our only full multiple choice test in Latin so far!). English was moderately hard. It's Christmas Break now..yay!

I think Emily and I are gonna see Eragon later..

I have over $100 my relatives have given me so far...wow haha

Today's Latin: ne nimium (do nothing in excess)

Today's Latin: non omnia possumus omnes (we can't all do everything)

glacier_kitty: (Default)
Man we've been watching depressing things in US history...two days ago we watched something on the assisination of JFK and today we watched about how this 14 year old black guy got beaten up horribly and murdered cause he whistled at a white lady. Yeah...don't you just love America? *cough* They showed pics of his face *shivers* It'll haunt me forever. How can people be so cruel?!

I've listened to all of the Edguy CD and it's sooo good!! The Gamma Ray CD has lotsa the songs Heather sent...from the ones I haven't heard I've listened to My Temple and Condemned to Hell...awesome songs!!

Emily and I finished our Latin project!! We have to present it tomorrow

This week's House was two parts and it was very suspenceful, sad, depressing and creepy...

This Saturday is the train ride in Dallas with People to People. I find it cruel the station name has 'bell' in it...

Today's Latin: ita, semel et solum vobis permissum est (so, once and only for you is it permitted)

"Waiting for tomorrow when the sorrows disappear, look into the future from the center of my fears"--"My Temple," Gamma Ray
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Emily is coming over soon to work on my Latin project with me...I think she's on her way now so this shall be kinda short. I hope she can find my house ok. Ryan is so annoying! He's like "is she fat? Is she coming over now? You better work in your room!" Ergh!!

All my teachers were in a bad mood today except for my psychology teacher...I've never seen my history teacher annoyed before...it was kinda creepy...

Here's Raging Water: http://download.yousendit.com/4BD5158E2E619D92. Enjoy the Frank goodness haha :)

Today's Latin: Latinae loqui poteram (I could speak Latin)

"Forever French-frying, you'd love to see me dying. Who's let the peacock in to rock the house, opera house?"--"Judas at the Opera," Edguy
glacier_kitty: (Default)
Judas at the Opera by Edguy is an AWESOME song!!! It's so amusing! I've also listened to Blessing in Disguise (it's alright) and I'm sending Spooks in the Attic to Kathryn now. Edguy is so epic

I'm not even gonna go into how annoying my computer has been...and I was picked up from school way late...but I saw the librarian from McKamy! She remembered and recognized me!! She was so happy to see me and she said she'd tell the other librarian she saw me! Yay!!

I dunno if I'll be online tomorrow cause my partner for my Latin project (her name's Emily) is coming over to work on it with me. Man I'm stressed about it

Today's Latin: auscultate mihi! Ad vos loquor (pay attention! I'm speaking to you)

"Darkness has covered the opera house, something is wrong you can tell"--"Judas at the Opera," Edguy
