Last night I finally had the in-house sleep study done!

Getting ready! There were so many things to hook on to me that it took like 45 minutes just to get ready haha (I got there around 10)

So many wires!! After the assistant hooked everything up she had me lay down in bed and she checked on her computer if everything was working properly, which it was. She showed me the call button in case I needed anything (like to use the bathroom), then left me for the night. You don't have to go to sleep right away, so I read a little before turning out the lights (there's also a TV if you want to do that too). I didn't really sleep the greatest (I was too wired. ;) Haha), but hopefully they got good enough data. She woke me up around 6, unhooked everything from me, and said I could go whenever I was ready. I called mom and because she lives SUPER close to the Sleep Center, she was there in a few minutes. We both went back to sleep when we got back to her house LOL, mornings are not our thing. :P The assistant said I should get the results back within a week..so happy I finally got that done lol

I've been working three hours the days I've been at work this week, and while it's more tiring, I definitely get a LOT more done. There are so many boxes and stuff it doesn't look like I did anything though LOL. Denise is just thankful for whatever I get done, it's less stress and work for her..it's nice to be valued. :P I'm also staying the night at my apartment..making slow steps in getting my life back, at least!

Oh no, the Castner Glacier ice arch collapsed on Sunday, blocking the entrance to the cave! So sad! The people hiking around the arch were very lucky not to get caught in it! Because you have to pay to read the article on the News-Miner site, here is is )

17 – Eat Your Vegetables Day: Do you love veggies? Do you have favourites? Do you have a favourite veggie recipe -- either main meal or side dish? Will you share it? They're alright..zucchini is pretty good, and green beans and broccoli aren't too bad either. They're good as a side dish with butter!

18 – International Panic Day: Contrary to what it sounds like, this is a day dedicated to reducing panic and stress in your daily life, not celebrating it! How to you go about reducing the stresses, anxiety and yes, panic, in your life? Taking Clonazepam and Prozac haha (it might be starting to help now, hopefully!!), talking to mom or my counselor, etc

19 – Watch Day: Do you still wear a watch (assuming you ever did wear one)? Is it just a regular time telling watch, or is a smartwatch or fitness/health device that also tells you the time? Yeah, just a regular watch..I don't need my watch to be that fancy haha

20 – World Productivity Day: What did you do today (or are you planning to do) that was particularly productive? Mom and I went to the store and then found three geocaches!

21 – World Music Day: How important is music in your life? Do you play any musical instruments, or are you part of a choir or other vocal group? Have you ever been in a band (rock or school or other)? I love music, it can be calming, energizing, nostalgic..it kinda makes driving less tedious too. No and no, but I was in choir for a little bit in elementary school, even though I'm terrible at singing LOL

Too bad Cindy and Dean left yesterday, because the Northern Lights were great! Mom and I watched from the upper deck, and I even saw them dancing from my bedroom window!

I'm always in awe when they start dancing and turning colors! So amazing

I forgot to mention it, but Ingrid was on the same flight as Cindy and Dean, and mom and I were shocked to see her! What are the chances?? Haha. Tonight we went to dinner, which was cool..she's so fun! She's hoping to come back in the summer for a longer time..she wants to go to Castner Glacier now haha. It would be interesting to see what it's like in the summer, though you wouldn't want to go in the cave unless you wanted to get wet :P

On Friday, we did go to see the ice sculptures..they're pretty cool, but standing around in the cold takes the fun out of it lol. On Saturday we went to the Museum of the North..cool as well, but that tired me out too..long covid/depression has made me lame. :P Cindy and Dean wanted to hike at Creamer's Field after that, but I went back home since I was tired. After that we had dinner and played Betrayal at House on the Hill (Jo won lol)

Yesterday we hiked up to Castner Glacier! (Along with everyone else in the Interior lol, so many people!) I can't believe I've lived here 15 years and had never been there haha (though it may not have been popular years ago, but it definitely is now). It's only a couple hours from Fairbanks! It was windy, but SUCH a gorgeous day!! Its biggest attraction is its ice cave, though part of it collapsed last summer. Good thing it's an easy hike, I'm SO out of shape lol. The ice cave was still really cool though, and went a long way under the glacier (one guy said he followed it for an hour, and found flowing water! We didn't have any flashlights though). Glacial ice is so cool to look at. There was a steep slope up the glacier me and Cindy and Dean adventured up to, which was exhausting, but satisfying. :P After hanging around the glacier awhile we drove home (Ryan had dinner waiting for us!). That was one of the funnest days I've had in a long time..I definitely needed that positivity. The total hike was 2.6 miles I think..nice! After dinner we played TWO rounds of Catan! Dean loves that game haha. It was really nice to finally go to bed :P

Today is Cindy and Dean's last day here, awww. :( We definitely had a good time though!

lots of pics! )

18 – Quilting Day: The oldest known quilting dates from 3400 BC! Has anyone ever made you a quilt or have you made your own? Have you ever bought a hand-made quilt? Mom has made me a couple quilts. Yeah, at least I think it was lol

19 – International Read To Me Day: created to boost literacy this day isn’t just for children. When was the last time you read out loud to someone? What was it you read? Did someone read aloud to you when you were a child? Some couples read to each other – if you have a significant other, is this something you do? Probably recently. Yeah, mom loved reading to Ryan and I when we were young

20 – International Day of Happiness: this was created by the United Nations to spread the idea that happitalism rather than capitalism should be spread around the world. Is happiness a choice? What makes you happy? What little thing can you do to make someone else happy? Did anything occur this month that made you particularly happy? It's complicated..with depression it's really hard. Cats, glaciers, books, etc. Compliment them, be kind, etc. Castner Glacier!

Yesterday mom and I drove home from Valdez..it was even sunnier, if that's even possible lol (weirdly enough, my coworker friend Kathy was also in Valdez this weekend! She went to Columbia Glacier..we both couldn't believe how nice the weather was lol). We had another nice breakfast with Thea and I think her boyfriend's name is Bob. They're fun people lol, I added Thea on Facebook. :P It was sunny the whole way back, which is impressive! I was sad seeing how much Worthington Glacier had retreated when we hiked up there..poor glacier. :( We found a few geocaches on the way back too..nicee. I also spotted Castner Glacier in the Alaska Range..it's tricky if you don't know where to look (and if there's snow)..not a fast look either since the trees get in the way, so I'm excited when I spot it lol. I think that glacier is a popular hiking/research spot. Poor Black Rapids Glacier is still there, but you can't see much of it anymore. :( Valdez is absolutely one of my favorite places..even when it's raining it's beautiful. <3 I love that I can take a two or three hour drive and just see glaciers everywhere! It makes me wonder how people can live in big cities and miss out on all that! My pics are talking forever to upload, so I'll post them tomorrow :P

I had to go to the doctor for the stupidest thing ever lol..I've been having bad anxiety and depression again...because of Cherry. I just could NOT get him off my mind, and it made me depressed that he was depressed and in bad health the rest of his life after coming back from Antarctica. And I was sad I'll never be an explorer like him..like I'm wasting my life or something. My regular doctor didn't have anything available today, so I saw another doctor. I was super embarrassed to have to say that my crush on a long-dead explorer was making me crazy LOL. OMG I can't believe what the doctor wrote in his report though..I am not making this up: "she is perseverating in her ruminations about this historical figure. I want her to use clonazepam 1 mg up to twice daily as required to reduce the compulsion of the rumination." Hahahah what!! Clonazepam is like Xanax, but not as potent I think. I hope it helps till I can see my regular doctor. (This could be a funny conversation.."why did you last go to the doctor?" "I have a crush on a long-dead explorer that was making me crazy, what about you?" OMG lol.) I seem to be doing better now, so maybe it's helping. Having anxiety is so annoying! lol

Name someplace beautiful )
