Today mom and I saw The Fourposter!

I was disappointed the bed didn't have a canopy lol, but it was still pretty good! I think that's the only play I've seen with just two people in it. In the movie the couple died, but in the play they moved away..a nicer ending, I think. I thought about taking a picture with the couple, but I was too shy lol

Here's the whole stage (which of course changed throughout the play)

So cool that Fairbanks did this play!! Since taking tech theater in high school, I always wonder what it looks like behind the scenes though..that's where I would be, opening and closing the curtains LOL

Speaking of four-posters, I've been watching The Penguin (one of the main characters stutters), and the mansion one of the families lives in has four-posters! I love seeing them unexpectedly, so exciting haha. There weren't any curtains though, which is just so wrong..the bed is naked and sad!! Haha

Curti met Sid for the first time today, and the poor kitty was terrified..it was the first time I'd seen a cat drool from fear..poor guy. :( He doesn't seem to mind other cats, but he's definitely not a dog kitty so far (Abby tolerated Sid, though she would growl if he got too close)

LOOK AT WHAT PLAY THE FAIRBANKS DRAMA ASSOCIATION IS DOING!!

When I started listening to the radio earlier, I was completely not expecting to hear "the Fairbanks Drama Association presents The Fourposter..." I almost died of elation and started freaking out in the car haha, and mom missed the first part so she was like "what? What?? Tell me!" I reminded her of the movie version we watched a couple months ago (I had no problem saying "post" then, I was so excited haha), and said the Drama Association is doing the play here! I knew it was a play, but I NEVER thought little Fairbanks would produce it! That's amazing! Mom's not feeling well right now, so we're going to try to see it next weekend..so excited!! Haha

Poor Curti has to get neutered next week..I definitely don't want him spraying everything, so I guess it has to be done :P

This month Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre is performing King Lear, which my coworker Lucie is in (she LOVES Shakespeare. Last year she was in Romeo and Juliet, but I didn't go because I was still recovering from depression). Me, mom, Denise, Vicki and another coworker were all planning on going together, but Vicki was still sick and the other coworker didn't go because it was raining. All of us knew it was going to rain on Friday (it was the day all of us could go), but mom and I at least were going anyway..it's one thing that helped me get through that weird, hot week, looking forward to the play (it was performed outside). Since mom and I were still going, Denise said she'd go too. Thursday it was super hot and sunny, yesterday it was in the 50s and 60s and pouring rain, so we were all FREEZING and damp (raingear only goes so far lol). I knew nothing about King Lear, and after watching it...I'm still not quite sure LOL. There was this Old Tom guy who seemed to be losing it, and we were all like "oh...ok O_o" when he took his shirt thing off and was prancing around in his underwear (we were in the front row lol). Then later he came out covered in mud and leaves and was absolutely manic and falling all over the place. I was SO confused haha, but the acting was excellent! I felt bad for him because he had to have been SO cold!! Lucie's parts were mostly in the background, but she had a couple lines at one point. The play seemed to last FOREVER..I was told it was 2 1/2 hours but it was more like 3 1/2..a long time when you're cold and wet haha. Everyone did a great job acting though, that's always fun to watch. The cast all came out and bowed when it was over and then quickly ran backstage..I imagine they were tired of being cold and wet too! Of course, I had to take a pic with the curtains near the entrance:

Today mom and I saw Terra Nova, the play Denise got us tickets for at Christmas. Excellent!! The acting was great..I especially liked eccentric Birdie Bowers lol. The flashback scenes with Scott's wife were kinda boring, but the rest was good. The actor who played Evans did an outstanding job with his death scene. I squeed when they first came in pulling a sledge LOL. I wanted to ask what they were going to do with the props after the play is over..I would have loved to have a coat and those iconic gloves with the straps they wore around their neck. :P I got shivers when Oates said "I'm just going outside, I'll be some time," where he walks into the blizzard, never to be seen again..wow. They did a great job and I can't wait to tell Denise about it haha

a few more pics )

Yesterday mom and I went to dinner with Denise..somehow we got on the subject of how observant Paulette is, and how she immediately sees the thing on her desk that's different..Denise said "yeah, that would be like if Heather wrote 'Cherry' and stuck it on her computer." Mom was like "yeah, I saw that my cherry seeds bottle says 'Apsley' on it..I could tell Heather had been there." I was like "YOU KNEW ALL THIS TIME AND NEVER TOLD ME?!?" She said she saw it a couple weeks ago and wanted to keep me in suspense..that's so mean!! Haha! I told her there was another one that says "Garrard" on it, which she hadn't seen yet, even though I put it there in October! She was amused when I showed her later haha. I asked her if she was going to keep my "Cherry graffiti" lol, and she said "of course!" Nice :P
