Yesterday I flew to Seattle. When we took off we flew right over Fairbanks and I was like "YAY!" cause I've been wanting to do that for awhile haha. It got cloudy near the Alaska Range with some little holes I could see mountains in. Eventually the clouds got thin enough I could see the ground and I was like "EEEE" cause I saw a bunch of glaciers! :D Yay haha

We landed in Seattle and I walked to where Heather said she'd meet me..I was SO nervous and scared haha. I'm always like that when meeting Internet friends. :P She found me and we took the light rail to the bus stop. Luckily my anxiety wore off rather quickly..she's nice, easygoing and pretty comfortable to be around hehe. She's been on my friends list since 2004 so it's about time we met haha. The weather in Seattle was SO nice..sunny and warm! Heather said it had been raining the past two days and days like that were rare. Wowww haha..I must be good luck. ;) We got to her apartment to drop my stuff off and took the bus to the Space Needle. We got lunch and then went to the top of it. There was good views of Mt. Rainier, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, the Cascade Range and the city

Then we walked to the venue (and got lost on the way :P). We were reaaaally early (like 2 1/2 hours early) and just sat on the ground and waited. Anders Johansson (their drummer) was out talking to someone in Swedish! I smiled at him but he was just like "whatever." He didn't seem very friendly. Then later Joacim Cans walked by and smiled and said hi to me! *dies* Haha. Oscar also walked by and said hi..he gave us guitar picks too! Sweeeet haha. Eventually we lined up for the meet and greet and got to go inside and talk to them and get a show poster signed. :D I loved Joacim's accent haha. All of them signed the poster and I got pics with Joacim, Oscar and then the whole band. Yeah I finally have pics with metal musicians! :D Then they left and we took a spot at the front and waited for the show to start

Yesterday I was laying outside on a bench cause it was so warm and nice and I saw this guy walking towards me..he said "it's a gorgeous day!" and we introduced ourselves. Then he suddenly said "so how long have you known Jesus?" and I was like "uhh..I dunno" and he asked if I was born again and I said yes. He told me there was a church nearby and asked me if I wanted to go with him. I declined by saying I'd be too busy. He wanted me to meet his wife and apparently left to go get her but I didn't want to get involved so I went back to Dana's apartment. A guy I don't even know inviting me to church with him..yeaah not weird or creepy at all..

After Dana got back from her class we had to go to her brother Dylan's apartment cause we needed to print out the tickets..he doesn't have internet so we had to bring the printer back to Dana's apartment. Dylan is nice and funny hehe. We ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe (woo!). It wasn't busy so we were seated immediately. We got our food fast too. After dinner I got a couple shirts and a pin. Then we drove back to where the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert was held (there was a lot of traffic..eesh)

This was the most seizure inducing TSO concert yet. Their stage lights are AMAZING. Security was not tight at all..they just shined a flashlight in your bag. In Dallas you had to go through metal detectors and if you had a camera they took it away. So for the first time I was able to take pictures!! Yay! It felt odd hearing songs with snow and stuff in San Diego haha. They opened with Night Enchanted (their version of Dies Irae). Wowww. They kept playing boring slow songs during the Christmas part (though I LOVE An Angel Returned). Even though they played the same songs I think they changed it up..they're such a creative band. They do stuff with stage lights and fire I didn't even know you could do. And the two violinists switched their stick..things by tossing them to each other and catching them! Woww..I wonder how much practice that took. They played some songs from their new album during the second half. They played their version of In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg..I LOVEE that song. Their stage lights moved SO fast. They got political with some songs too..the screens were flashing images of Obama and the news and stuff. I like the girl who sings Queen of the Winter Night better with the group that comes to Dallas. I think they ended with Wizards in Winter. They win for their creativity haha. After the concert we hung out with Dylan and Phil (Dana's fiance) a little..she drove Dylan home and then we went to bed

The Elton John concert was rather boring..most of his songs sounded basically the same. The stage lights were good though

Karla and Sean came to my house around 1..after talking to dad some we left, stopped at Sonic again, then drove to the American Airlines Center. We had seats at the VERY top..of course Karla is afraid of heights :P The concert started 20-25 minutes or so later..they didn't open with Wizards in Winter!! Though an advantage to the top was I didn't even need earplugs haha. They added more lights to the side, these effect thingies, and lights in the stage. They sure loved their pyrotechnics this time too..they even had FIREWORKS haha. This guy from..Queen or something sang too. One of the guys said "wanna see what happens when we turn all our lights on?" and I'm like "OMG YES" haha. After the concert we drove back to my house and hung out there for awhile. Karla said her birthday is gonna be at Medieval Times and Sean said I could come (I've NEVER been! Haha). They also said Nightwish is coming back here in March..maybe we'll even go to Scarborough Faire? They're not coming back to school this semester..aww

Yesterday Karla and her boyfriend picked me up and we drove to Dallas for the concert (and stopping at Sonic on the way). We stood in line before the doors opened and talked to this girl. We got inside and waited (and I bought a shirt) and then Paradise Lost performed..I forgot my earplugs so it was loud haha. They weren't bad but I just..wasn't into it. Then we had to wait for Nightwish..man my feet hurt haha. We were at the back (though Karla and her boyfriend went closer when Nightwish played). They finally came onstage and a lady gave me her stool to sit on (aww thanks). I was told I wasn't allowed to take pictures but I did anyway. :P The songs I recognized that they performed (before listening to the new CD) were Dark Chest of Wonders, Ever Dream, Nemo, Wishmaster, Creek Mary's Blood and I Wish I Had An Angel. Through most of their performance I was like..blah. I just..wasn't into it really. I didn't recognize a bunch of the songs they were playing. I saw this lady who was like..40-50 or something rocking out haha! When they played Nemo I broke out of the "wasn't into it really" and then I totally had fun. Haha and I SWEAR to you the lyrics to Wishmaster still sound like "master, apprentice, hard porn, Steven Segal" live! During Creek Mary's Blood they had this guy play a flute thingy and sing/say the Native American parts! It was way fun when Marco and Anette both were singing to I Wish I Had An Angel..ENERGY MAAAAN. On the way home we listened to their new CD. Karla and I (and her boyfriend?) may go see Trans-Siberian Orchestra too..

Aaah when I write long posts I tend to forget things..at the concert Roy invited two people up to the stage and said he was gonna sing "Love You to Death" and then the guy asked the girl to marry her! Awwww hehe. He also sang the ballad "Abandoned"..so beautiful..people actually used their cigarette lighters for "reverence" or something. I also heard about a most pit but didn't see it. I also bought their album "Karma" (online). And I have a video

I have a math test tomorrow..I made stupid mistakes on my review :P

The place for the concert wasn't that hard to find..I hung out and observed the stage lights and then this band that started with an A came onstage..I was uncomfortable at first. Someone actually said "get off the stage, you blow!" Their last song was like..15 minutes long. There was another wait and then Leaves' Eyes came on..they were somewhat good actually. There was a song that sounded like "Captain" that I liked. I tried to get to near the front of the stage but the people were packed. Then there was mooore waiting for Kamelot. I commiserated with the short people on how it was hard to see haha. During the break I went to the left corner of the stage and I was ONE people-row away from the front..but then the guy in front of me moved and I was at the front of the stage! I was actually right next to the speakers haha..I was getting somewhat naucious from the cigarette smoke and the heat but then Kamelot came on..whoa haha. Not sure what the first song was but the second one was "When the Lights are Down"..WHOOO YEAH that was SO AWESOME..I sang and sort of headbanged and "danced" in a way. The stage lights were pretty cool too. Roy Khan got sweaty in about 5 seconds haha. They also played "Soul Society," "The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)," "The Human Stain"..but then during the rest I didn't really know what songs they were doing so I couldn't sing along. BUT I TOUCHED ROY KHAN. AND the bassist noticed me! I did \m/ to him and he pointed at me haha. There was a drum solo..whoa fast haha. I was getting naucious again and thought about going to the back so I could see them that way but my spot was so great and I wanted to touch Roy again (oh be quiet :P haha) so I stayed. I think the encore was March of Mephisto? It was the last song on the setlist..(I don't have one but someone else did and I looked at their's). The concert ended at like..12 something and I went to the next door gas station to wait for dad and people from the concert went there too..a short person I talked to AND the person behind me who told Roy it was someone's birthday and their friends..such nice people! The guys too! I don't feel like an outcast with metal people! The worker at the gas station said she talked to Roy..wow haha. Dad said I smelled like cigarettes when he picked me up :P

The TSO concert yesterday was amazing!! They opened with Wizards in Winter...of course they had their awesome lights too...I wanna know how they do that haha. They played other songs like First Snow, Christmas Eve Sarajevo, and An Angel Returned. OMG I'm in love with the guy's voice who sang An Angel Returned. It was SOOO beautiful!!! They did one part of the song first and the other part later. "Kyrie among nations, hear the bells ring through the night" is now my favorite quote. THAT PART WAS SO AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL!! I just had to sing along! I didn't like a lot of the singers though...their voices were rhaspy and jazzy...there was a part that was SO BORING. I think I liked the second part of the show more than the first haha. There was a song that seemed familiar but I dunno where I've heard it from. Then the announcer guy said "the next song dates back to the 6th century and is in Latin...I don't understand any of it...this is Carmina Burana!" OMG I about died!!! THEY PLAYED O FORTUNA!!!!!! OMG IT'S THE MOST EPIC THING I'VE EVER HEARD!!!!! It was sooo amazing!! They way the singers sang it...maaan. Requiem the Fifth was awesome too...the people singing sounded kinda weird though. Ohh and Flight of the Bumblebee...I admire their speedy talent haha. Of course they had sweet pyrotechnics...some changed colors haha! OMG and Queen of the Winter Night...the singer went to a platform where I could see her much better...OMG it must take some serious training to do what she did with her voice!! Her end note was sooo high! Near the end the pianists had a duel...the guy did this AWESOME epic organ piece and the woman played seriously fast...she has some fast hands haha. It was a really awesome concert..

an awesome pic of me )

Today's Latin: nec possum tecum vivere, nec sine te (I can live neither with you nor without you)

"It was the glow of a light, it was the heart of a song, it was the tear of a child where they never belonged, it was the wish of a soul on an old neon light, and the Lord smiled at him on that cold winter night"--"An Angel Returned," TSO

Ok wow where to begin...amazingly majorly awesome doesn't describe how good the TSO concert was. The lights were really really awesome and intricate! I shoulda brought sunglasses since it was so bright. And the pyrotechnics! They turned different colors!! And it was very loud (can you tell this is my first concert ever?). They opened with Wizards in Winter (my fave TSO song)...I woulda headbanged but I was still in shock. I headbanged later though and it was sooo fun and I think I scared my brother. The guitarists were insanely awesome!!! And one of the violinists was shredding on her violin! The first half of the show was Christmas songs and the other was majorly rock out songs. They played songs like Farandole, Wish Liszt (Toy Shop Madness) (oh man the guitars RULE on this song...I was watching the guitarists play and I'm like...how do you do that??), Christmas Eve in Sarajevo (that got stuck in my head), Requiem the Fifth (I think I headbanged most on this song), Flight of the Bumblebee (oh man that was sooo fast and the guitarists...man!! They're like a bunch of Luca's!!), and....O FORTUNA!!! I freaked! Oh man it was soooo epic! O Fortuna metal style: RULES. I didn't think anyone would headbang but they did! One of the guitarists walked to each person on stage and had "headbanging contests" with them! It was so amusing! He walked up to one of the the keyboardists and she headbanged too while still playing keyboard perfectly! I'd mess up majorly. The insane shedding violinist and the headbanging guitarist were both raised on a platform never stopping in playing their instruments...I was kinda far from the stage and it was cool actually seeing them up close. There were like 30,000 people in this place too...I had never been there (the American Airlines Center) and I walked in and I was like...OMG huge!! I got a shirt and a book thingy showing pics of them. I'm sooo going to see them next year...
