Belt of Venus

The other day I saw this on spaceweather.com. It's called the Belt of Venus and it happens before sunrise or after sunset. The dark spot in the pic is earth's shadow. So basically sunset is earth itself casting a shadow over the land (here's a site to read if you're confused: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/home/84903812.html). Well today after I got off work I looked at the sky and saw that exact thing! I was like "no way" haha. It looked exactly like it did in the picture. How cool is that? Haha
