The other day I saw this on spaceweather.com. It's called the Belt of Venus and it happens before sunrise or after sunset. The dark spot in the pic is earth's shadow. So basically sunset is earth itself casting a shadow over the land (here's a site to read if you're confused: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/home/84903812.html). Well today after I got off work I looked at the sky and saw that exact thing! I was like "no way" haha. It looked exactly like it did in the picture. How cool is that? Haha

NASA scientists have discovered a microbe that many scientists are calling a breakthrough. A curious bacteria that thrives on a poisonous substance. An unfamiliar organism that researchers say could point to new forms of life both on Earth and possibly beyond.

Thursday's NASA announcement, researchers discover a strange bacteria in a salty California lake.

This microbe, found in Mono Lake, survives without phosphorus, an essential building block of life as we know it

That's realllly weird to think about since I've been to Mono Lake before..wow (http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a333/RhapsodysSteel/Mammoth%20CA%202003/Image092.jpg and http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a333/RhapsodysSteel/Mammoth%20CA%202003/Image089.jpg. I COULD BE HOLDING ALIENS. Haha)

I heard yesterday that these scientists built this machine so they could reenact the Big Bang. People thnk it will cause black holes and we'd all die (the machine is gonna create small black holes that will apparently disappear on their own). Earlier today they did tests just to test the function of it. They're gonna do the real test (smashing particles together and verrrry high speeds) "soon." And I read that their really big tests (yeah..like recreating the Big Bang isn't big) are gonna be four years from now..which happens to be 2012..when the Mayans predicted the end of the world. How nice :P

Today's stupidest quote: [ATTENTION]--Please do not wind up a string more powerfully than need. When I run out and am exposed to sight, I am in danger:--Please cut a string appearing more extra than a spool. There is a case to cause an injury (instructions for stringing a guitar from the website of a Japanese guitar manufacturer)
