When I went to 5th grade camp back in the day (lol) I remember them telling me that juniper trees spread acid from their roots and kill other trees. Where did they get that from?! I've never read or heard that anywhere else! I have a juniper at my house and other plants grow fine next to it. And they burned the junipers (we could see the evidence...but there were still some left) cause they said they were "taking over." So what? IT'S A PART OF NATURE!!! They also said they weren't natives of Oklahoma...but don't they know there are many kinds of juniper? Yeah, I've gone back and asked them all this...but they dodn't even give a good answer! They called it the "juniper invasion." AHHHHHH!!!! Yeah, I've even asked my uncle who's a forester and he said they don't...SO WHERE DID THE TEACHERS GET IT FROM?!! This has been annoying me since then...and I'll spare ya from more ranting...lol
