Today mom and I went up to see the Yukon River! The Yukon is on the Dalton Highway (which goes all the way up to Prudhoe (sp?) Bay on the Arctic coast) but to get there you first have to go 70 some miles on the Elliot Highway (which I didn't know starting out). The turnoff is at Fox so we just had to drive down Goldstream Road. I was following along in the Milepost and was wondering why I kept not seeing the landmarks it was talking about. The Yukon is at mile 56 on the Dalton and when we got there and didn't see anything I checked the maps and stuff again..then realized we were on the Elliot Highway..I was like ohhh crap haha. We finally found the Dalton and had to go 56 more miles..except this road was a bumpy muddy dirt road (though parts were paved). Ohh joy. Eventually we got to the Yukon River Bridge..that river must be at least as wide as the Mississippi at Baton Rouge. There was a bunch of ice coming down the river too (though it didn't look like it was moving from the bridge haha). It was reallly quiet at the parking place (except for birds and the river). I was fascinated at hearing the river flow haha. Then it was time to go home..we were soo excited on driving on the dirt road again. :P We saw a moose! Aw hehe. I shall post pics tomorrow!
Would you rather burn your mouth really badly every time you eat pizza or never eat pizza again? Never eat pizza again..I don't really care for it anymore anyway
Today's trivia: The African cicada fly spends 17 years sleeping, then wakes up for two weeks, mates and then dies
