Mountain adventuring
Oct. 10th, 2009 07:57 pmDad is heree. Today we took him to the mountains since he'd never been anywhere outside Fairbanks. We went to Paxson and took the Denali Highway until it became gravel road. It's rather exciting driving it with someone who has never been there before. It was hazy cause it was like crazy windy and it was blowing the glacial silt off the rivers into the air. Woww. You could see Black Rapids Glacier (the tiny part of it at least haha) but Gulkana Glacier was covered with snow (though through the binoculars I could see a little blue glacial ice). Some of the rivers and stuff were rather dried out..maybe cause it's not summer anymore. Dad seemed amazed people had cabins out there. :P We saw a bull moose too!

Fresh snow covered mountains with a new glacier I found :D
