Wow I'm bad at reviewing these :P (Maybe I need more familiar stuff?)

Today's Latin: damnant quod non intelligunt (they condemn what they don't understand)

Hahah I don't think you're bad at reviewing them! If you come around to reviewing songs that I still have in my iTunes after it so sadly crashed on me, I intend to listen to the songs with your viewpoints in mind, just out of curiosity hehe. :)

That song used to be called "Halloween" when they were still Lucifer's Heritage. The original version appears on the Symphonies of Doom demo :)

The Martyr: Is this about Jesus?
Battalions Of Fear: It's about part of the Cold War? Good song I guess?

Both guesses are correct :)

When reviewing anything, it is important to have a point about the item reviewed (whether it is good, bad, average, whatever), and to illustrate it. For instance, when I was about nineteen years old, I read a review of an Appalling Spawn album (that also mentioned "the real Kataklysm") where the reviewer proclaimed that the vocal style was his favourite kind. Over the top, totally insane, as he put it.

He then spent most of the review describing an incident in which he wound up queueing up for beer at a concert and being stuck in line behind a really fat woman in a miniskirt ("though it was big enough to be a tent"). The last few words of the review were something like "fat rolled down her legs like wax melting off a candle. I thought I was going to vomit. If you put a microphone up to me after subjecting me to such hideous visions, I would sound like this vocalist.". It has been at least ten years, and that description is still so burned into my brain that I think of it whenever I listen to Sylvain Houde growling.

Indeed I have. If you go to this link, you will see a music video that demonstrates how this reviewer hit the nail right on the head. Sylvain is awesomeness.
