The Cherry Plan
May. 5th, 2021 04:24 pmDonald came over on Monday, and I had a plan: I would incessantly talk about Cherry, and he would get annoyed and leave haha. When he came over I was like "have you ever seen The Worst Journey in the World??" Of course he hadn't, but when I looked on YouTube I saw it wasn't there anymore. :( :( :( So I told him about the Winter Journey, Scott and his men's death after marching to the pole, showed him pictures of Cherry, recited from The Worst Journey, and anything else I could think of. Sure enough, he had absolutely no interest and was incredibly bored LOL, and he thought it was too depressing (he was terrified to touch my Worst Journey first edition because of how old it looked). It was fun at first, but then started feeling guilty because of how pained he looked. He wanted to watch a movie, so I put on 90 South, Ponting's videos of the expedition..amazingly, he said he kinda enjoyed it, because it wasn't the Worst Journey haha, and he liked seeing the animals. I excitedly pointed out Cherry whenever he was shown..one of my favorite parts of the film is when Cherry is standing in front of a sledge, beaming and scratching his head with a ski pole..for some reason I find that adorable. <3 I kept branching off into other things like the Franklin Expedition, but he looked so pained I had to stop..I'm not that evil LOL. After 2-3 hours of talking, I was TIRED..I'm not used to talking that much!! The Cherry Plan didn't work, because he asked if he could come back next Monday. I think the previous time I was in a bad mood because I kept getting migraines from my other glasses, but this time was fine, so I said sure, though I may not always have the energy I had on Monday..we shall see :P
