Oct. 26th, 2020 04:29 pm1. Which book would you consider the best book you’ve ever read and why? The Worst Journey in the World (true friendship <3), All the Light We Cannot See (beautiful!), etc
2. Are you an Austen person or a Bronte person? I've never read either and don't have any interest in either
3. Are there any genres you will not read? Yeah, like super scary horror, "steamy" fiction, etc
4. Are you a fast or slow reader? Pretty fast, unless the font is tiny or something
5. What was your relationship with books like as a child? I loved them! Book fair days at school was the best lol
6. Are you the type of person who will read a book to the end whether you like it or not, or will you put it down straight away if you’re not feeling into it? If I read a few pages and I don't like it I'll stop, but if I'm halfway through I might as well finish it :P
7. Have you ever despised something you have read? Yes, The Shameless Diary of an Explorer for being super anti-Semitic and mean to their animals, and another one about a cat named Darwin because the author was super mean to his cats..ugh
8. Do you prefer to read first person or third person? Either
9. Are you for or against multiple narrators in the same book? For..in can be interesting, especially when their stories connect together eventually
10. Bookmarks, dog ears or leaving the novel open and face down to keep your spot? Bookmarks
11. Do you prefer to read at a certain time of day? Before I go to bed is my most favorite, but I like to read before going to work too
12. Do you need to finish a book before you can move on to the next one, or will you have multiple books going at once? I finish a book before I start another one
13. How do you choose which book to read next? Flip through books on my shelf for like two hours hoping something will grab me LOL (or choose one relating to a topic on the Popsugar Reading Challenge when I'm doing that)
14. What is your favourite children’s book? Where the Red Fern Grows, The Giving Tree, etc
15. Do you agree that Jane Eyre should be considered a feminist novel? I've never read it
16. What’s your favourite of Shakespeare’s plays? Macbeth
17. Do you know any poetry by heart? Bits and pieces of poems
18. Did you enjoy the Hunger Games? I really like the first one, but by the third I was just like "meh." I'm glad the movie was better lol
19. E-reader or traditional book? Traditional book
20. Do you read in the bathroom? No
21. Ideal reading position? Curled up in bed lol
22. Hardcover or paperback? Paperbacks are easier to carry and stuff, but I'll buy hardbacks too if it seems interesting
23. Nicest edition or cheapest edition? Depends on if I just want to read it and donate it to the bookstore, or if I find a cool edition of a book I love and like how it looks on my shelf haha
24. Do you prefer happy endings or sad endings? Happy..I don't like being depressed when I finish a book :P
25. Do you enjoy concepts in books to be concrete or abstract? Concrete
26. A book you studied in school and ended up loving? Where the Red Fern Grows
27. Classics or modern literature? Mostly modernish, and a classic here and there
28. Thoughts on adults reading YA? Whatever, I'll still read YA if sounds really good
29. Have you ever read a book in another language? No
30. Have you ever written your own book? I started to, but lost interest eventually..it's still saved on my computer though lol
There must be something to Mercury being in retrograde, because yesterday at Costco all the registers went down at once, and today Donna had a very hard time driving to work in the new snow, there were boxes left outside and almost all the books got ruined, she couldn't find a receipt, etc..crazy :P
I read my notes yesterday, which were lovely, and I got two gift cards to the smoothie place I like and a gift certificate to the bookstore..so nice! They know me so well :P
