Back in Alaska
Feb. 24th, 2016 02:39 pmBefore going to the airport, everyone had time to have breakfast together. Susan said she was so happy to see us again and was crying when we had to say goodbye. She hugged me and told me I'm such a sweet girl. Mom said she wanted to stay longer by ourselves so we could geocache more and stuff..that would have been nice, but I couldn't really handle the sun and heat and humidity anymore lol. Mom and I did manage to find two geocaches on the way to the airport, which was nice. I guess nine total is better than none lol. Even if I was tired of the sun, it was still sad to leave lol. I hope there's less drama when I see everyone next time (yeah right :P). Thankfully the flight to Seattle was shorter than when we left from there, 5 hours and some minutes. This time I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (OMG I love the humor in those movies haha) and National Treasure: Secret of the Tomb (LOL at the lady playing Candy Crush on her computer). We got back to Fairbanks pretty late..it was nice to sleep lol
Here are more pics, though I haven't uploaded all of them yet:

Store kitty!

Nice sunset

Not sure what King Kamehameha did, but here's a statue of him :P

Pololu Valley. Last time we hiked down there, it's a cool black sand beach

Driving up Mauna Kea

It's a moraine!! I can't believe there used to be glaciers up there haha

Mauna Loa in the distance

Telescopes

You can see Maui in the distance!

The sun begins to set

The moon and the Belt of Venus

The telescopes began to open!

Date: 2016-02-25 04:13 am (UTC)Aw great pictures too! I love the sunsets and the telescopes! That really is something that there used to be glaciers there, whaaat!! How weird to think about haha. The store kitty is so cute (and you look cute with your hair pulled back in that picture hehe). Ohh yeah, I love how you can see Maui in the distance too! Just 5 more months to go for meee heheh ;)
That's great that you got to spend such quality time with your extended family, even if there was drama haha. I hope you and your mom do get a chance to go together to go on more geocache treks too! Score for your first Hawaiian geocaching experience :)
