Hello from California! Yesterday our flight to Anchorage left at 8, so we had to get up at 5 something..ugh. At least we were rewarded with awesome views of Denali, Mt. Foraker and some glaciers! All three of our flights were under three hours because of an awesome tailwind! I watched How to Train Your Dragon (HOW had I never watched it till now?! That movie is amazing! Toothless the dragon reminded me of a cat LOL) and a lot of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (must finish it on the flight back!!). I saw some cool mountains and glaciers flying out of Anchorage, but then on my side it got cloudy! I looked over at the other side and it looked clear for miles! When the clouds did clear, my side was just ocean..it's a good thing I've seen the glaciers on that side before, but I'm always sad to miss them anyway. :P We flew in to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, which I hadn't been to in YEARS. Everything looked so green flying in!! That always amazes me after a long Alaska winter lol. We got our rental car and drove to the hotel in Costa Mesa, which is pretty close to the airport. It was nice to relax, I was SO tired lol..getting up so early makes me feel awful the whole day :P

Today we had breakfast and geocached our way to nearby Newport Beach lol (really stressful when you're not used to lots of traffic and don't know the area!). I think we found 5 or 6. I don't remember ever going to Newport Beach before (as a kid I mostly went to Redondo or Hermosa). It was pretty nice. We got some yummy food (I'm pretty sure California is more expensive than Alaska, wow D:) and walked on the piers and fed some pigeons..poor things must have a rough life, some of them had deformed feet and one had fishing wire wrapped around its feet and maybe part of its wing..OMG so sad. :( :( :( I tried catching it, but it was still too fast for me. :( That probably happens often, sadly, judging by their feet. Poor things. :( After that we relaxed at the hotel and then Aunt Susan met us for dinner..weirdly, she works at Newport Beach! (She lives near Torrance, 37 miles away.) It was nice to see her again! We ate at a Mexican restaurant, where they make guacamole right in front of you! I don't usually like guacamole, but this looked too yummy not to try. It was indeed really good! Fairbanks guacamole is sad LOL. We talked for a couple hours about dad's health and stuff, and then Susan drove us back to the hotel. Nice seeing her again!

Tomorrow is Scott's game, woohoo! I hope they do well lol

So Saturday was Dana and Matt's wedding! Before the wedding, mom and I were determined to find more than one or two geocaches, or looking for one and not finding it (caching in such a busy place is hard! Especially when you have to figure out where to park). We ended up finding ELEVEN!! Heck yeahh. I think that's my third best day of caching (my second is 16 I think and my best is 20). That was satisfying lol. After that we got ready for the wedding. It was pretty much the best wedding ever..Dana looked perfect and gorgeous and just bursting with happiness. When the officiator was reading his notes both of them stood there looking at each other bursting with love and happiness. It was so awesome when they were finally pronounced man and wife!! They were made for each other. <3 After that was happy hour or something, or "standing around eating and talking" lol. Mom and I snuck up to our room to get a book since that's neither of our fortes lol. After that was dinner..I met Matt's mom and stepdad, the ones that live in Payson. None of us can get over how dad bought a house in the same town Matt's parents live haha. There was also a photobooth (fun! I'm gonna hang those pics on my fridge :D) and dancing. Mom and I hung back at first (we're the worst dancers ever, and shy lol) but when Uptown Funk came on (a great dancing song!) we decided to go up there. Might as well let loose and have fun! We might have been flailing more than dancing LOL, but whatever. Poor Dana was getting tired though (it was fun dancing with her too! She saw the rare side of me lol). Mom and I left around 11 and Dana said the party wound down around midnight. The Best Man and Maid of Honor made great speeches too, which were 100% true. It was a great night!! So happy they're finally married :D

the rest, and pics under here! )

Mom and I visited Aunt Susan and Uncle Carl and their kitties today (twice in a year, woohoo!) and after we left we went to Redondo Beach. WOW it has changed! I don't even remember the last time I was there, but still. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE OMG. California has gotten so crowded. :( We managed to get one geocache, so yay lol

Mom and I actually fly home tomorrow, not Tuesday. I'll be glad to get back to calm Alaska, though it was super awesome seeing Dana again <3 (best wedding ever!!). I'll post more in depth about the last couple days and more pics after I get home. I'm so glad I wasn't there this past week, it was in the high 80s and maybe ever 90s in some places!! Yikes. At least in San Diego there's air conditioning lol. I hope I see cool scenery on the flights home..

Before going to the airport, everyone had time to have breakfast together. Susan said she was so happy to see us again and was crying when we had to say goodbye. She hugged me and told me I'm such a sweet girl. Mom said she wanted to stay longer by ourselves so we could geocache more and stuff..that would have been nice, but I couldn't really handle the sun and heat and humidity anymore lol. Mom and I did manage to find two geocaches on the way to the airport, which was nice. I guess nine total is better than none lol. Even if I was tired of the sun, it was still sad to leave lol. I hope there's less drama when I see everyone next time (yeah right :P). Thankfully the flight to Seattle was shorter than when we left from there, 5 hours and some minutes. This time I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (OMG I love the humor in those movies haha) and National Treasure: Secret of the Tomb (LOL at the lady playing Candy Crush on her computer). We got back to Fairbanks pretty late..it was nice to sleep lol

Here are more pics, though I haven't uploaded all of them yet:

Today was our last day in Hawaii. The guys went on another bike ride since they hated their other one. Mom took them, so it was just me and Patty and Susan for half the day. We went shopping again for a couple hours and then went swimming and hung out by the pool. I fed the birds out of my hand again, awww. The guys enjoyed the ride, though they got in trouble for being on private property. After more hanging out we went to dinner..Susan was like "if Jack and Danny get drunk again we are NOT going!" She wanted a nice dinner and not like the dinner the other day. Instead of being loud and crazy, this dinner was subdued..so weird lol. We took some family pics (siblings, etc) and then went back to the hotel

Except for the drama just being in a large group brings, I'm glad I got to see them again. I hope any of them can visit us some day. Seeing Hawaii again was nice too, though I'm tired of the hot intense sun haha. I'm disappointed we only found 7 geocaches, but it's hard when you're with other people that don't geocache too. I hope we can get more tomorrow before we leave. I hope the flight to Seattle isn't as long as when we flew here from there. I'll post the rest of my pics when I get home. It'll be nice to see Abby again hehe

Yesterday the guys (except for Danny, he wasn't feeling well) went on a bike ride (it's tradition for them to go on crazy mountain bike rides on vacation haha), so everyone else went to a couple nearby towns to go shopping. We actually went back to this shop by that restaurant we ate at where all the kitties were..there was a kitty sleeping in the shop that let me pet him and he purred hehe aww. He was definitely not feral..the shopowner said he thought someone just left him there..ugh it breaks my heart when people do that. The guys were back from their ride when we got back..they said they hated it..too much uphill, no good views, and Jack fell and scraped up his arm. We had a great time visiting when we all met up again though, my stomach hurt from laughing so hard haha. At least two people walked by and were like "you are such a fun family!" Then we had dinner while watching the sunset and went back to our rooms to relax

Today my parents got up early to go snorkeling (they kinda tried to wake me up but I was too sleepy lol). After I got up I went with Susan, Patty and Carl to these shops where Susan bought these $200 sandals. That store was crazy..they had flip flops with shiny designs on them that were over $200. D: Nooo thanks lol. After a couple hours there we met up with everyone again by the pool. There were these cute little birds that ate right out of my hand! Susan, Carl, Danny and Patty went to go shopping at Kona, and me, my parents and Jack went up to Mauna Kea (13,796 feet) to see the sunset and the stars (mom luckily got a Jeep with 4 wheel drive, otherwise we couldn't have gotten up there). Mom and Ryan and I went up there last time we were in Hawaii, and I was wanting to go back. Luckily Jack wanted to anyway, so that was cool. It's like another world up there. It was super windy and freezing! I made the mistake of running to take a quick pic and running back to the car..it was hard to breathe! You feel a little weird up there haha. The sunset was nice, but the bright almost full moon washed out a lot of the stars..ah well, you could still see Orion and Jupiter and stuff. Last time I saw the glow from Kilauea, not this time though. I'm glad I got to go back up there though. After stopping at the visitor center we drove back to the hotel..now I'm going to bed :P

Yesterday's dinner was crazy..Danny and Jack had already started drinking while hanging out by the pool, so they were drunk when we went out for dinner. It was already loud in the restaurant, and with my family's loudness it was just crazy. Danny drank even more and was just SO drunk by the time we were done..he's not a nice drunk either, he's super obnoxious. I felt bad for our poor waiter..though Susan thought he was horrible and gave him no tip at all..wow. Eventually I just couldn't handle the stress and craziness so mom and I stepped outside for a little walk, which was awesome cause OMG KITTIES!! Apparently a bunch of feral cats live nearby..there were a whole bunch of them out there! Mom and I spent like 10 minutes meowing at them LOL. One cat let me get pretty close to it..it seemed like it did want somebody to pet it, but I guess it was a little too feral to trust humans though. It was still great seeing all the kitties though hehe. Eventually we went back in the restaurant in time for dessert and then then thankfully left (Susan and Patty were squeeing over the cats too hehe). I hoped Danny wouldn't have a too bad hangover in the morning..he was just yelling and embarrassing everyone. That was one of the craziest dinners I've ever been to lol

This morning we at met for breakfast..everyone was much calmer and back to "normal" (what passes for normal for my family lol). Danny said he didn't feel too bad, and he and Jack knew they both had overdone it. I didn't see either of them drink all day today, phew. After breakfast we hung out at the beach. Finally the wind was much calmer today. After reading and relaxing me, mom, dad and Carl went snorkeling! Thankfully the hotel has prescription goggles you can rent, otherwise I couldn't see anything. :P It was so cool, I loved seeing all the colorful fish and anemones and coral..no turtles though, boo. I'm glad I felt well enough to do it, it was fun! After the beach we moved to the pool. Mom and Susan and I went in the pool for a bit and then munched on nachos. For dinner we just got sandwiches at a market and now we're relaxing. I got more of a sunburn today, especially on my feet..ow. I'll have to be more careful tomorrow..

here are some pics! )

Yesterday me and my family mostly hung out by the pool (first I had to find a bathing suit, which was painful. It was so much easier when I was a kid lol). They're even crazier than I remembered haha. They couldn't stop talking about my tattoos, it was amusing. :P Aunt Patty has one on her ankle that says "meow" with a simple cat face on it, which is similar to the one I was thinking of getting next! Someone said of all of us, me and Patty seem the least likely to get tattoos, and yet we're the only ones of the group that have tattoos lol. We all got drinks..mine was a yummy fruity one..I'm so glad I can get drinks with them now haha. Mom and I stopped at one, but others just kept drinking throughout the day and getting wound up. Getting in the pool felt nice after sitting in the sun..I got sunburned, but not too badly. Mom and I found our first Hawaiian geocache too, woohoo!! Eventually it was decided to order pizzas, which mom would pick up since she only had one drink. Aunt Susan called our orders in and rode along with mom to get them. They were gone a long time..when they finally got back here we all congregated in Danny and Patty's room..when we opened the foil on the pizzas, it was a disaster. NONE of our orders were right..Susan said the restaurant was super busy and only one person was serving..she even called to complain but nobody even answered the phone..wow. She was pretty angry about that. Mom called it "the Hawaiian Pizza Fiasco" LOL. Eventually we had to escape to our room cause we couldn't handle everyone shouting and being so hyper..relaxing in bed was very nice after that :P

Today I woke up feeling horrible..I've been dealing with face/ear pain for a couple or so weeks and I just felt..run down and strange. I couldn't stand it anymore, and figured I had some type of infection, so mom took me to the closest clinic, 18 miles away in Waimea. The doctor said my sinuses are probably blocked and recommended some decongestants and stuff to try. He wrote me a prescription for antibiotics, but he only said to take them if I don't feel better by Monday. I do feel better after taking Sudafed and stuff. I hate being sick on vacation! Waimea is so weird..it's always rainy and cooler there, even though it's not THAT far from Kona (plus it's higher in elevation). Kona is like the one spot on the island that's always sunny and warm..I've always thought that was so weird lol. Mom and I decided to geocache on the way back..it's still CRAZY windy, and we got soaked from the rain..brrr!! Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit suddenly popped in my head, since there were pine trees around and one of the lyrics is "the pines were roaring on the height" haha. We managed to find two caches (and two we didn't find)..even if i got soaked and cold and grabbed a dead fish that I thought was a rock (ewww haha!!), it's part of the adventure and makes it even more fun..we just had to laugh at how crazy the wind was. I love our geocaching adventures haha. Now I'm relaxing in the room, but I'm gonna join Susan and co. by the pool now (I didn't want to wait till tonight to update, I'd probably be too tired). We're gonna go to a yummy restaurant tonight, yay :)

I am in Hawaii! The redeye flight to Seattle was faster than normal (the pilot was proud of that I think lol)..we got there at like 4 or 5 AM..ugh, being awake that early is the worst. D: We had breakfast and hung around for a few hours till our next flight left. The plane was too heavy and they were begging for volunteers to go on a later flight (as far as I know, only one person volunteered and they needed 8 altogether). Later we learned they had moved some luggage to a different flight..luckily ours came, but jeez, they should tell you that BEFORE you even take off!! There was a lady traveling with her cat, which I had to say hi to hehe. That flight must have been one of the LONGEST I've ever been on..it felt never ending!! When I'd already watched a movie and thought we'd been in the air 2-3 hours I asked a flight attendant how much longer we had..she was like "a long time still, 3 or 4 more hours!" Ughhh. I watched He Named Me Malala..she is so amazing..she said she has no ounce of hatred for the Taliban that shot her..wow. She seems funny and has a great relationship with her family. I also watched Inside Out..it started out funny and seemed interesting, but then it just got weird lol. It kinda weirded me out how Riley looked so much like me haha. I probably could have watched another movie too, but I was too tired and wanted to save some for the trip back. Mom and I were so happy when they announced they were serving Mai Tais haha..I'd never had one before, it was pretty good! The line for the bathroom was pretty crazy too..everyone seemed to get up at once and we were always having to squeeze past everyone..a flight attendant said the "waste" was full before we landed..wow lol. I was so happy to finally land in Kona..phew! It was kinda weird seeing family I hadn't seen in ages..Susan, Carl, Jack, Patty and Danny are here so far. Carl's hair is longer than mine, and with his beard he looks so much like dad! After we got settled I had to take a nap and now we're just relaxing. It is SUPER windy here today..makes for good white noise though. Now time to find a Jacuzzi and then bed! I wonder what we're gonna do tomorrow..

The end :(

Today was the volcanoes final (I took it in the professor's office haha. It was rather easy) and now the class is over..aw. It was such a great class..one of the best I've ever taken! Now to figure out what to take next semester..

This is the hotel we're staying at in Hawaii. *drools* Aunt Susan got us a good deal (she's a travel agent and has been to Hawaii a LOT). Mom said it's the hotel we stayed at when I first went to Hawaii as a little kid. Cool! It will be awesome :D

Today's trivia: The tower of St. Bride's Church in London inspired the three tiered wedding cake. A London baker decided to copy the idea as a design for fashionable weddings and it has continued to be as popular today as it was almost 300 years ago (I've been there!! We came across it accidentally haha)

After flying to California Aunt Susan picked us up and drove us to her house. Grandma and Uncle Carl were there (they all live together). Carl's hair was longer than I last saw it..he looked like a rockstar haha. Susan's hair was longer than I've ever seen it! She usually has it to her shoulders and it was as long as or longer than my hair! Grandma didn't look very different. We hung out (Carl decorating the Christmas tree) and then went to dinner (and looked at Christmas lights on the way), where we met Uncle Jack and Claudia (my second cousin) and her son Nicolas (who's autistic). Nick was WAY different than I remember him last..he was TALL and bigger and seemed more mature. I asked Susan if she ever went to Carcassonne and she said yes! Dinner was fun haha. Then Susan, Carl, grandma, dad and I went back to the house and watched some TV and talked more and then we had to go to the airport to get on the 12:55 flight home. I read basically the whole flight..we got to the airport at 5 something and got home and went to bed at 6 something. Yaay fun times haha

Before my aunt left yesterday, we listened to HammerFall and Iron Maiden. She also took pictures of my house and me holding my sword. Later, my brother's friend came over and we went trick or treating. It was really fun. There as also a storm in the distance, and it was cool to see the lightning flash in the cloud. If anyone would like to see pictures, I'll gladly email them to ya.

When I was walking to the library after school, a car passed me that said, "Christian Steel, Inc." I had an image of me chasing the car shouting "steeeeeeeeel!" *laughs* *falls outta chair* *headphones come unplugged*..."I'm the Nordic warrior..."

Uh...lol...*falls over again*

We had early trick-or-treaters last night...weird. I think it would be cool to talk to people like people did in the medieval ages, since I'm gonna be a medieval warrior. My brother and his friend are gonna be President Bush (don't ask).

My aunt's here. Last night we went out to eat, then we took her on a tour of our house. She marvelled over how beautiful my brother's swords were and the balcony view. We wanted to take her to the fitness center, but she didn't want to. On the way to my house we passed it and she was really amazed by how beautiful and big it was.

Last night was the time change. Since I stayed up till one, that really ment I stayed up till 2. Maybe that's why I'm tired.

My aunt is coming tomorrow! She's gonna sleep in my room, and I'm gonna sleep on the couch, which I don't mind doing.

Halloween is approaching! I'm gonna be a medieval warrior. *steel*

I made a survey yesterday! I filled it out, too, and I shall post it here. I was *REALLY* hyper when I made it. The answers are from last night.

My aunt is coming on the 30th! She's going to Germany (for her job), and she'll get extra money or something if she comes to DFW. So, she's just spening the night. Germany sounds like an interesting place to go. But I think I'd rather go to Scotland.

Viggo Mortensen's birthday is on the 20th! He'll be 46. He does *not* look 45! He looks more like 30. He's so incredibly good looking (Aragorn...AHHH! *melts*).

Yay...school tomorrow...weekends go by too fast.
