A volunteer at work, Martha, is turning 90 at the end of the month, and wanted to go ziplining for her birthday! She invited me..I had never been ziplining before, and Martha is awesome (90 going on 20 haha), so I definitely said yes! We went yesterday, and her daughter Susan and her husband Bob and her granddaughter came too (Martha knew a some of the people working there as well). The place was 37 miles away on the Elliott Highway..such lovely scenery! <3 We got there and geared up, and I was surprised at how short the line was (it's almost 1000 feet I think), but it seemed like a good introduction to ziplining anyway (I was a bit nervous lol). After we got geared up (Bob had done it last year, so he took pictures from the ground) we had to walk up the hill to the platform, which tired Martha out lol, but she still went first. I went next..the view was great up there, and the nearby creek sounded nice too. I stepped off into nothing (a bit weird haha) and said "wooo!" haha. It was SUPER fun!! I went so fast and loved the wind in my face! Too bad it didn't last longer! Susan went after me, and screamed the whole way down haha. It would be cool to do a longer one now I know what it's like. After that we had a yummy cake made by her granddaughter..she was very happy! She said this on Facebook: "It was a day I will remember. A simple day with friends and family with a little fun and excitment, along with birthday cake, without 90 candles. This time in my life is the happies of all. old, well and rich with love." I love how positive and happy she always is. :D I asked her what she would do for her 100th birthday, and she said "climb on a rock climbing wall!" Haha nicee, she's so awesome :P
