Books and friends
Mar. 15th, 2014 08:10 pmToday we went to the local used bookstore, Poe House Books (I always try to go to a local used bookstore when I'm on vacation haha). They had some cool mountaineering/arctic books. My bookstore will always be the best..this one had cobwebs and dirt on the windows and the books weren't in that good of shape..one interesting one I looked at was stained and just gross. I guess I'm spoiled haha. I got three books, two mountaineering/arctic ones and one on Mt. Saint Helens. We also got ice cream and visited with grandpa's long time friends (I vaguely remember visiting with them the last time I was in Florida too). They have a beautiful cat named Cinnamon..she was so cute and dainty hehe. Visiting is tiring haha. Dinner was spaghetti and garlic bread..yumm

Huge dog is huge!

Mt. Saint Helens!

I think this is Mt. Adams?

I think this is the Red River..

Ah yes, the brown Texas lakes :P

Texas is very flat

Grapevine Lake!

Awww, dad used to take me to that island. It was so fun, you could walk out in the water a long ways! Mom checked the geocaching app on her phone and said there were two caches on the island haha

Silver Lake Marina, I think

This is where dad used to work!! I have good memories of dad sneaking us in there as kids haha! We would walk around the planes and sit in the cockpits and find money between the seats haha

Leaving DFW

A river by Charlotte..the Catawba River, I think

Grandpa's cat Richard

Simba

I take too many cat pictures..sorry not sorry :P

A sandhill crane! I wonder if I'll see him in Alaska this summer haha

Awesome old live oaks in grandpa's backyard

A curtain of Spanish moss

I thought this was a forest fire, but I think it was just a controlled burn..I looked online and it seemed Crystal River does a lot of controlled burns, plus there wasn't any chaos or firefighting planes..
