Here we go again..
Nov. 12th, 2013 03:57 pmA weather system developing over the Bering and Chukchi seas will move across northern Alaska Wednesday and Thursday... and bring another period of stormy weather to interior Alaska. This weather system will result in significant precipitation over most of the interior.
Warm air being pushed inland will result in freezing rain or rain over portions of the interior... especially in the western half of the interior. This is a complex weather system and the northern and eastern extent of the freezing rain boundary is still uncertain at this time. Snowfall amounts will may vary considerably near this boundary depending on the duration of freezing rain.
The Fairbanks area will be on the edge of the freezing rain boundary Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Precipitation will begin as snow early Wednesday and likely change over to freezing rain by late afternoon or early evening. A cold front will quickly sweep in from the west late Wednesday night and change the precipitation back to snow. Strong and gusty west winds are anticipated Thursday behind the cold front over higher elevations... and at valley level in town.
Significant snow is likely before the precipitation changes over to freezing rain... with the highest amounts in the hills north and east of town. This is a moist system and if Fairbanks experiences 6 or more hours of freezing rain... up to one quarter inch of ice accumulation is possible. Several more inches of snow is possible after the cold front moves through Fairbanks... with the highest amounts in the hills.
Oh joy. Fairbanks missed the freezing rain last time, I hope we miss it again. I hate feeling trapped inside..it makes me want to go everywhere haha

Would you rather wake up in the morning after a drunken night and inexplicably find blood all over yourself and on your bed or find your .38 pistol, usually stored in a closet, next to you on the nightstand with two bullets missing? D: Blood..
Today's trivia: The Pacific Ocean contains about 25,000 islands
