Do you ever miss Texas or wish that you still lived there? Or, if you could live anywhere else besides Alaska, where would you choose and why?

I don't really miss Texas except for the awesome restaurants/shops and friends I left behind (thank goodness for Facebook!). Other than that..eh. I definitely don't wish I still lived there haha. Here's a funny story..at the airport before I left for Alaska I was looking at the scenery and was like "wow..I love it. I have such love and pride for Texas!" When I came back to Texas like 10 months later and saw the same scenery..I felt none of that. The scenery just looked..blah. Nothing like what I saw before! So weird haha. If I could live somewhere else..maybe Washington. I've decided I need to live near snowy mountains :P

Who or what first got you interested in glaciers?

When I drove through the mountains on the way to Anchorage after first moving here, I thought it would be cool to see glaciers. They're something you normally just hear about and don't see. I asked mom but she said the glaciers were in a different area (besides the Mt. McKinley area, most of the glaciers in the Alaska Range are on the east side, in the other direction from Anchorage). Then a couple months later I went to Valdez and saw some glaciers and saw all the awesome huge icebergs from Columbia Glacier (on the cruise, the captain asked if we wanted to see whales or the glacier first..I was the only one that voted for the glacier haha). Then Dana told me her parents saw Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau and I Googled pics of it..and was hooked. Five years later and I still love glaciers!

Kameloooot \m/ (one of my favorite bands anyway haha)

Would you rather be a compulsive liar or marry one that you can't divorce? Ugh

Today's trivia: Hawaii is moving toward Japan at a rate of four inches per year

Texas and Alaska scenery are SO different from each other! I think I would also have to choose Alaska scenery over Texas scenery, but I suppose they are still each beautiful in their own way. Alaska seems WAY more dramatic with the snow-capped mountains and colors everywhere, whereas Texas just seems dramatic in the flatness. Granted, I haven't seen very much of Texas, but that's just what I've gotten out of it so far. I do think Alaska is much prettier than Texas.

YEEAHHH The Human Stain. One of my favorites!

Every time I hear the intro now, though, I flash back to an inside joke between me and my best girl friend, in which a really attractive male contractor from where we work is supposed to do a Chippendale's-style dance wearing nothing but a tool belt. Good times haha.
