Canoeing at Birch Lake

Today my parents picked me up early from work and went canoeing at Birch Lake! (About an hour away) It was nice, except when we almost tipped over. D: I hate how unstable canoes are haha. Water got in the canoe and got my backpack all wet..now it smells like lake. :P My book and license plate notebook got all wet too..boo! We canoed around the perimeter (and somewhat in the middle) of the lake..there were hundreds of pretty lillypads! I picked one and took it home..it's longer than me!! Haha. The sun felt nice too. There's a fire by Eielson Air Force Base and we saw it driving home (smoke was coming off the hills)

After we got home one of mom's coworkers called her and said he was gonna hike to Gulkana Glacier and asked us if we wanted to go. Uhhh YEAH haha. Why would I ever say no to that?? Haha. My eyes got so wide when mom told me..so unexpected!! Yaaay, I get to hike to Gulkana Glacier again!! :D Lots of adventures this weekend hehe

The lake is beautiful, looks like a great way to spend the day! I can't believe how many lilies there are!

I remember Birch Lake!! Such a beautiful area. Your pictures came out so great, you're looking really good. Canoeing sounds so fun, although I've only gone once and I remember sucking at it haha. That's too bad that so much stuff got wet, at least you guys didn't tip ALL the way over! ;) Those lily pads are awesome.

OMG how can I not make a remark about Gulkana Glacier!! Have SO MUCH FUN and take lots of pictures please! :) Enjoy your hike!!
