Good kitty, soft kitty

Today I went to lunch with Judy (I hadn't seen her in a long time) and went to the animal shelter to pet the kitties. :D One was SUPER friendly..she'd climb on your back and bury her face in your ear and lick you and purr. When she looked at you it was like she was saying "I love you SO much, I just wanna be petted and I'm the best cat ever!" Awww. There was another where the description on the cage said the cat had been found outside as a stray at -40 and was frozen and unable to move! Luckily they revived it..its ears were frostbitten and they had to remove part of them. Poor kitty!! I got home COVERED in cat fur haha

It's so nice that it's warmer (8 I think). It doesn't feel like your face will break off just walking inside haha. It's been snowing and there's supposed to be heavy snow on Wednesday..they're forecasting 4-10 inches! We probably need the snow though..

Aww those kitties sound absolutely adorable! I'm so glad you get to do that with Judy... It sounds incredibly rewarding and like a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

I'm kind of surprised the first cat you mentioned didn't come home with you.

The second story about the frozen cat reminds me of a similar yet exact opposite story from when I was young. Remember I lived in Arizona, hence the "exact opposite" part. This story is pretty sad, so sorry if it depresses you.

My female cat had a litter of kittens and for some reason this one little black kitten was the runt and the rest of the kittens as well as the mother didn't really seem to accept her. Once it appeared that they had trapped her underneath the house, but she heard our voices when we were swimming and came to where we were and started mewing through the skirting and we rescued her. She was my favorite after that, and also because she was black. :) She never got very old though, sadly. She disappeared for a few days and I started getting really worried about her, we all wrote her off as permanently lost but then one day I heard a very weak mewing. It was like a screaming mew, just very weak and broken. No one believed me and they thought it was just wishful thinking because I was a little girl who wanted her kitten back. But I knew it was her, so I went in search of her, following the noise. I found her through a crack in the skirting, trapped under the house again, only this time she'd been under there so long with no water that she was on the verge of death. I picked her up and she literally didn't have enough strength to move, she was limp and flopped over my hand backwards like her spine was a noodle. I ran inside with her, put her in the bathroom sink, and again her spine was like jelly that molded to the shape of the sink because she was too weak to even move. I don't even know how she managed to scream like she did to get me to find her... a last burst of adrenaline before death I suppose. I slowly wet her fur with cool water and put some on her tongue, and eventually she was strong enough to take some drinks on her own. Slowly she came back to life, and could move and bend her own body again. Unfortunately, she still died later that day... but at least she died indoors, curled up in a comfy little bed I made for her out of a cardboard box, and knowing that I'd tried to save her. And that's my sad story. :(

I'm only allowed one cat where I live..otherwise I probably would have brought her home haha

I reaaaaallllly hope we don't get that much snow! Just what we've gotten has made my commute so scary. And I have stuff I'm supposed to go do on Wednesday and Thursday and it'll be awful driving back home in the dark if it's blizzardy!
