FAIRBANKS - Don’t put away those shovels and snow blowers yet.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning on Thursday for 6 to 10 inches of snow in Fairbanks by noon Friday.
“We’ll probably be on the low end of that,” meteorologist Scott Berg at the National Weather Service in Fairbanks said. “The heaviest snow is going to be to the north of us.”
The snow was expected to start late Thursday night and continue through most of Friday. The heaviest snow was expected from midnight to noon.
A “very, very strong” low pressure system that pounded the west coast of Alaska with wind gusts up to 70 mph on Wednesday and Thursday was moving north over the top of high pressure that was sitting over the Interior, Berg said.
Haha jeez..enough winter already :P
