These pics are of Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand. The first pic was taken last year and the second was taken this year. It looks like it has retreated since then (the moraine is probably covering part of the glacier though). That's sad..though that glacier is like that..retreating and advancing when it feels like it haha. Hopefully it'll advance again soon. The glacier is unique cause it ends near a rainforest haha

Aww poor Franz Josef Glacier...I hope that it advances again soon. Maybe it needs all the snow cones it can get! I still think that's so crazy that it ends in a rainforest... Though I know Washington has rainforests, too, and I also don't really associate rainforests with Washington haha.
