Autistic pride
Apr. 7th, 2010 06:22 pmThis morning I was at work sorting the books and these people were talking and all of a sudden I hear "autism walk." I went over and I told her I was autistic and we talked and she said she had an autistic son. Then she said "we're having a news interview at Channel 13, would you like to be interviewed too?" and I was like "sure!" Wow..how crazy is that we both just happened to be back there at the same time? Mom picked me up and went to the place where the interview was. I talked about my autism, how it effects me, and you should accept people with autism..they're special people and if we "cure" them then they wouldn't be special. Also that you shouldn't be scared of it..I wouldn't have it any other way..I see things in a way other people don't and I don't wanna lose it. The news anchor who interviewed us said I was really touching and said I did a really good job. I thought it was hard to get everything out I was trying to say and said "like" too much..oh well. :P The anchor said if the interview doesn't get on today (I'm watching the news now and it may not) she'll come and tape me doing stuff at work and it'll air tomorrow. Woww. The lady with the autistic son invited me to go to the autism walk on Saturday so I'm gonna go to that. Wow..so crazy
Would you rather have to fish in a large pond until you catch something and be allowed to use only your bare hands or have to completely untangle a golf ball sized knot of thread? Untangle the thread
Today's trivia: The tentacles of the giant arctic jellyfish can grow to be 120 feet long

Sorry if I sound really stupid. It's not something I know a whole lot about.

Date: 2010-04-08 03:54 am (UTC)When I was younger (like 5) I didn't understand jokes or sarcasm at all. I guess I just grew out of it. Being around my dad who always joked around probably helped too
