I saw the Northern Lights last night for the first time this season! They were green-white and moving slowly. They're supposed to be better tonight :D

I felt an earthquake at work today..I asked if anyone else felt it and they said they thought it was the construction people or a truck driving by. It didn't feel like either of those..it felt like someone was trying to tip my chair over or something haha. I checked the earthquake site and I was right..it was a 2.4. Yay haha

OMG YAY NORTHERN LIGHTS!! That is so cool.

Haha maybe one of these days I will be able to feel an earthquake, too...nothing bigger than a 3.0 though. ;)

The only time I felt an earthquake was in 1989. I was sitting on my bed doing... something... and suddenly I felt the whole room vibrate. The window even vibrated and made a racket. Then when I watched the news that evening, I learned that Newcastle had been hit with a 5.6 earthquake. Newcastle is about 101 miles to the North of Sydney, and the part of Sydney I lived in at the time was about 25 miles West of that. So it was a pretty unusual event to have an earthquake on that scale. To date it is the only earthquake in recorded history in this country that has actually killed anyone.

It's on the to-do list of like everyone in my family to see the Northern Lights before we die. :) Apparently, it was my grandma's big wish, but then she died, so it became my dad's task . . . one of these days, I'll show up on your doorstep with half a dozen Yunckers asking for the good places to look. :)
