I think something's burning...

The number of acres burned by wildfires across Alaska crept closer to the 1-million acre mark on Monday as the Interior continued to bake in a mid-summer heat wave that is fueling more than 70 active fires around the state.

As of Monday morning, a total of 393 fires had burned approximately 765,573 acres, a number that is increasing daily as a result of a two-week heat wave around the state

Daaang..poor Alaska. The smoke is SO bad today..you can just smell the wood burning. It's so thick you can't see Ester Dome and even our hill was pretty covered with smoke. This morning I woke up and saw the sun burning orange through the smoke. It doesn't exactly make breathing nice either..

I still have yet to hear if they caught the people responsible for lighting some of the bushfires in Victoria earlier this year. Ironically, North Queensland was flooded at the same time.

OMG that's a whole lot of fires! That's covering a huge amount of land, too. Wow...
