Signs of spring

Yesterday I saw a male spruce grouse (www.fws.gov/northeast/moosehorn/images/Spruce%20Grouse.jpg) trying to court a female. The female didn't look too impressed haha..she wasn't even looking at him. :P I also saw a rabbit! I haven't seen one out here in a long time..

It RAINED today! At first I was like "WOOOO UNFROZEN WATER FALLING FROM THE SKY" but then it reminded me of last summer..cold and rainy. At work I looked outside and saw it looked like it was gonna rain and this..feeling came over me..like it just felt it would rain or something. Maybe it's from living in Texas?





Ling cod: Also known as lush or losh, the ling cod looks like the offspring of an eel and a catfish, with all the ugly of both parents. Makes the ugly halibut look like Miss America. But the fish make up for their looks with even worse personalities. I would LOVE to live somewhere cold during the summer! I wouldn't even mind the rain! I hate 100+ degree summers with a passion!

It's not usually cold here in the summer actually..it was an unusual summer..we got so much rain we actually would have flooded if we didn't have floodgates on the river. I want a nice warm summer this year haha

What kind of temperatures do you usually get?
I don't mind warm summers, but not ridiculously hot summers over 100 degrees! Anything above low 90's is just not for me X_X

Usually in the 60s, 70s and 80s (maybe even 90s) in the summer. Last summer was my first here though so I haven't had a "normal" summer here yet. Though the 60s feels hot here haha

Haha, I know what you mean! After we came home from Ireland, it was in the mid 70s and it seemed soooooooo hot to us, when in reality that's actually incredibly cool for California!

Oohh you saw a spruce grouse! That's so cool! I've only ever seen one grouse, a ruffed grouse, in upstate New York. We were driving down a dirt road, taking the back roads to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving, and we startled it from the side of the road. Yay wildlife!
