On Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? yesterday the contestant was Kelly Pickler and one question was "what European country is Budapest in?" or something and she said "I thought Europe was a country! Don't they speak French there (Budapest)? Is France a country?" When she was told that Hungary was the right answer she said she'd never heard of it. Dude..seriously??

The sad thing about this is that the ignorance or stupidity demonstrated by these children is held up as a failing of the children, rather than say... oh, I don't know... the teachers who failed to teach them???
