Truly, the most disappointing third films of all time are Alien 3 and X-Men 3. Both because the studio thought about them in terms of how much money they can get out of the public rather than the quality of the story. Alien 3 was so badly-made that it ended up bankrupting a studio.

X-Men 3 was dissapointing..the girl who died came back to life and was way strong and went to the "dark side" or something..ugh

I think the failure of the film lies chiefly in a director who does not know where the strengths of his cast are, as well as screenwriters who do not know how to build up a story that works.

Had I been directing, the curebie angle would have been thrown right out the window simply because it needs a whole film of its own in order to work properly, and Halle Berry would have been told "your services are not wanted". And those are just two of a huge number of things I would have done differently.
