I have a pre-algebra test and a US history test on Monday..oh boy studying..haha

There was this woman on this show who was like "MY SON WAS DIAGONOSED WITH AUTISM OH NOES! THEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS REVERSIBLE! And I divorced by husband! 80% of parents with kids that have autism get divorced! THEN I CURED MY SON!" Guy: A truly amazing story!

It's like the normalist Christian idiots who go on about curing gayness. Shows like that use faulty science to promote a conclusion that, if real science were used to examine it, would be utterly unsupportable. Trying to blame divorce on a child being autistic is an excellent example. There have been couples that have stuck together after their child has suffered third-degree burns to more than half their body, cystic fibrosis, down's syndrome, brain tumours, you name it. So if autism is enough to destroy a marriage, then the marriage was in pretty bad shape to begin with.

I bet people are so worked up over Autism anymore because it's something people don't understand and it's human nature to fear the unknown. But eh I think people are taking it all and making it twice as dramatic as it needs to be. How hard is it to just love a child?

Apparently impossible for certain mentalities. I wish I could just fast-forward twenty or thirty years to when the people who make shows like these (this means you, Oprah) are given the same kind of treatment in the popular press as organisations like the Ku Klux Klan. Because in effect, the difference between the producers of that show and the Ku Klux Klan is merely in a few cosmetic details.
