Cherry in unexpected places
Feb. 6th, 2019 06:28 pmI'm reading a novel set in the arctic, so I was completely surprised when I read this:
My eyes drifted. In the half-light, I noticed some graffiti on the wall, white letters scarred into the wood paneling at knifepoint. I sat up and squinted.
You've got it in the neck. Stick it -- stick it
OMG NO WAY. That was Cherry's mantra when he was sledging to Cape Crozier!! I wonder if it'll get mentioned later in the book (I could probably search the book on Amazon, but that would ruin the surprise haha). Those Unexpected Cherry Moments always make me so happy LOL
Mom said dad is doing alright..he has his ups and downs, but no bad attacks like the other day. His VA doctor can't prescribe him medicine though (wtf?), so he has to find another doctor if he needs more medicine..ugh. I just hope the anxiety goes away on its own like last time..
At work a kid came up to the counter and proudly said "I'm five!" I told her I was almost 30 (O_o) and her "OMG she's OLD!" expression was hilarious..I've wondered when kids would start doing that to me :P

Today's trivia: A cattle rancher in New Jersey is credited for inventing glitter, and it was by accident. Henry Ruschmann from Bernardsville, New Jersey was a machinist who crushed plastic while trying to find a way to dispose of it and thus made glitter in 1934
