Nov. 28th, 2025 01:48 pm1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood? Chlorine, mac and cheese, pizza, mothballs, apple juice, etc
2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have? Hmmm..pogs, maybe? I wonder what happened to them, I haven't seen them in a long time haha
3. What elementary grade was your favorite? 5th..my teacher was cool and we got to take care of the class Guinea pigs!
4. What summer do you remember the best as a child? It's all kinda mixed up..lots of swimming, walks in the woods, traveling, etc over the years
5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age? Don't be controlling, be patient! After 10 or so, when I'd be able to understand the concept
On Wednesday we had our Thanksgiving meal at work..it's not the same anymore since we're not in the same building, and some people I barely know, but the food was still really good! Lucie put up signs with everyone's name on them, and told us to write something you're thankful for for each person..I didn't get a chance to read all of mine, but someone wrote "outgoing" on mine. Uhhh..what?? That's probably the first time someone has described me that way haha, must have been one of the new employees. :P Yesterday was a lazy day at my parents house..I've been SO full these last couple days haha, definitely a food coma. :P Lucie gave Bill and I the option of working on Saturday, and we both said sure because long weekends can get boring haha. Hopefully customers will come in lol (thankfully, it's gotten busier since we've been taking donations and getting new books out, yay! I love how loyal people in Fairbanks are!)
22. Your first roommate: I've never had one, unless cats count lol
23. If you had to live in a different decade, which? Hmm..the 70s or 80s? Seemed like an interesting time..
24. What do you know about your mother's parents? Grandpa was an air traffic controller, and I think he was in the military at one point..he still knows Morse code from years ago!! He lived in Marathon in the Florida Keys, and built a sailboat he called Aptucxet..there a picture of me on the boat when I was a baby, but he eventually had to sell it because he got back problems. He lived in Vero Beach in a very cool house when I was a kid, then moved to Crystal River with his wife Joan..she died from lymphoma years ago, and grandpa has been living with it for many years (possibly from the bad chemicals from building Aptucxet). He's around 92 and kinda fragile now
Grandma wad adopted as a baby. She did housecleaning as an adult, and was crafty and loved making me books from newspapers and stuff. She lived in Wichita for many years..I loved the sycamore tree in her neighbor's yard haha. She was married a few times and had bad health for a very long time..she had a heart attack when I was a kid, so she stopped smoking, but her lungs still weren't that great. She was very sweet and loving with a great smile. When Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dean lived in England, grandma visited and fell in love with their neighbor Jack, and then lived there for many years, until Jack died, then moved to Topeka near Aunt Julie. I'm glad I got to visit a few times before she died last year
25. Something you think you could never do: Heroin
26. How would you describe a boring evening? Not in the mood to do anything, sitting at the computer staring into space
27. Your dad's favorite saying: He likes saying things are "crazy." When I was a kid he would say "I'm on the highway to hell!" before getting in the car haha
28. A relationship you would like to improve: I'd love to hang out with Vicki again, I really miss her :(
