MRI Results, or "I'm Getting Old"
Sep. 17th, 2025 04:57 pmFor the MRI last week, they gave me earplugs, and headphones with music on top of that, and the machine was so loud I could barely hear the music haha. It got pretty warm where it was scanning me! They haven't call with the results yet, so I went online to my chart to find them. I had to Google the fancy words, but it says I have some discs bulging, arthropathy (joint pain, stiffness, etc), stenosis (the abnormal narrowing of a blood vessel/structure) and things like that, and "partial lumbarization" of one of the discs, which is a "congenital anomaly where the first sacral vertebra (S1) is not fused with the rest of the sacrum and instead appears as an additional lumbar vertebra. This results in an increase in the number of lumbar vertebrae from the usual five to six. This condition can lead to lower back pain or other complications due to the altered structure and mechanics of the spine." It can limit your range of motion and cause stiffness. I always thought I was stiffer than most people, and wondered why things like washing the dishes hurt my back, and now I know why. They diagnosed me with "multilevel degenerative disc disease" along with the stenosis and other things. I imagine lifting boxes and stuff at work for 17 years is part of it, and just the natural part of aging. Well..if I didn't feel old before, I definitely do now. O_o Reading that made me kind of depressed, eesh. I slept horribly last night because I kept thinking about it. I'll have to be more careful at work, and seeing a chiropractor once a week has helped too. Aging is not easy!! Haha
It's been very slow at work, which is depressing too..I should ask if we can accept donations sooner, we need "new" books so people will keep coming back! We definitely need donations to live lol
I was really sad when I heard Robert Redford died, he was such a good actor :(
And something super cool I learned today: Kong Tsui-chang is the 79th-generation descendant of Confucius in the main line of descent. The family holds the Guinness World Record for the longest family tree, spanning 2500+ years. I thought it was cool tracing my lineage to the Mayflower pilgrims haha, but that's amazing!! Excellent record keeping for sure!
13. What is your relationship like with your mother? It's amazing! We're super close, like best friends. She's always been supportive and understanding, even when I get obsessed with things like curtains LOL. We love traveling together, going out to eat, etc. Her calm demeanor is soothing (animals think so too, more than once dogs have come up to her that never go up to strangers). She's helped me become who I am today! <3
