glacier_kitty1. Most everyone will recommend a book or two to read, but are there any you would tell people to avoid? Yes, like The Signature of All Things and A Cat Named Darwin
2. If you take a book on vacation, are you more likely to take something you haven't read yet or an old favorite? Something I haven't read yet..I don't often reread books, I have too many waiting to be read haha
3. Do you read any genres by the season? Like horror around Halloween? Cozy Mysteries in the Winter? Romance in the Summer? At times, especially if it's part of the reading challenge I like to do
4. If you read a lot of fiction do you prefer an author that has a series with the same character(s), or do you prefer stand-alone stories? Both, just depends on my mood at the time lol
5. Is there a book that you wish you could read again, but experience it like it was the first time? Yeah, a lot of great ones, like The Worst Journey in the World, The Starless Sea, Underland, etc
The building where I work is owned by the Food Bank, and they just put it up for sale because it's not part of their mission and they want to focus their attention elsewhere. Lucie didn't even know until someone came in and asked her about it. They should have at least told us first! We have needed a bigger building for years, so Lucie and the board have been trying to find a new building. Lucie did reach out to someone, and this is what they said: "Cameron and I have talked multiple times about making sure Lit Council is protected in this process. We will not sell it without either the buyer letting you be there till the end of June, at your current rate, or working a mutually beneficial to you and them deal out directly with you." That's nice at least! We're not sure if we'll find another building (hopefully one I can still walk to!) or just get new owners..guess we'll see what happens in the next few months lol
A member of the Franklin Expedition was recently identified! They extracted DNA from a molar and compared it with samples of living relatives of the people on the expedition, and they discovered it was James Fitzjames, captain of the Erebus!! That's so cool! Amazing what we can do these days!
A couple days ago at book club one lady came up to mom and I and was like "were you at the Denali South Viewpoint on Sunday?" We said yes and she said she was there too, also coming home from a trip and was with a group that was praying. She has very curly hair, and after she said that I did remember seeing a lady with curly hair in the group, but I didn't get a super good look because I didn't want to intrude, and I didn't expect someone I knew to be there! (And I was trying to find Ruth Glacier in one of the telescope things LOL.) Alaska is definitely a small big state!

25. What Buildings Do You Love? What Buildings Do You Hate? The cathedrals in Europe are pretty awesome. Those super modern buildings that are like..metal and weirdly designed, and houses that are just glass where you can see everything are just awful and can be sterile looking
