On Tuesday, I started feeling like I was getting sick, like that itchy throat feeling. I've been drinking a lot of Emergen-C so I *wouldn't* get sick (I've stopped myself from getting sick by drinking it before!), but I woke up yesterday feeling like I had a cold. I called mom and she brought me lunch (she usually does when I'm sick lol, so nice!) and a covid test kit. I hadn't felt TOO badly, but felt worse later in the day, so I took the test and it was positive..noooo!! No one else has gotten sick except Joelle. Weird, because the rest of us were in the same places with each other. Airports/airplanes are so germy, I always feel gross when I travel..I've gotten sick the last two times I've traveled, so I feel like I should wear a mask now when I travel, as painful as that is. I hope I don't react like last time I had covid, with uncontrollable depression/anxiety, but I'm in a better place mentally now than I was then. I'm pretty tired, but hopefully the Emergen-C will help fight it off. Mom's not going back to Kansas because grandma's still doing well, and she doesn't want to risk bringing covid to grandma. Hopefully I'll recover faster than last time..

Author You’ve Read The Most Books Of: Possibly Jude Watson, who wrote 17 books of the Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice series..I read them over and over again when I was a kid lol

Best Sequel Ever: Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World, for one

Currently Reading: The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith

Drink Of Choice While Reading: I don't usually drink anything when reading

eReader or Physical Book: Physical book

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School: Morgan Leah from the Heritage of Shannara books by Terry Brooks..I had a huge crush on him haha

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance: Legends & Lattes..so cozy!!

Hidden Gem Book: Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton..I loved the atmosphere of it!

Important Moment In Your Reading Life: Reading The Worst Journey in the World, which introduced me to a beautiful soul and a ton of other Antarctic books. Many times I've thought "stick it like Cherry!!" when in a rough spot. He must have known how much he means to me, since he said hi to me through my phone when I was at his grave!

Just Finished: I finished The Secret Chapter on August 26..The Ink Black Heart is pretty long (why I took it with me to Kansas lol)

Kinds Of Books You Won’t Read: Erotic fiction..I see them at work and flip through them and I'm just like "seriously?!" The descriptions of the plot on the back of the book are so ridiculous lol. Not really a fan of westerns either..

Longest Book You’ve Read: Probably Les Miserables

Major Book Hangover Because Of: Mrs. Chippy's Last Expedition, which had me sobbing after I read it the first time

Number of Bookcases You Own: Five..working at a bookstore is dangerous LOL

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times: Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawles..my copy is falling apart! I was obsessed with sycamore trees when I read it, so I underlined "sycamore" every time it was mentioned haha

Preferred Place To Read: Cozy in bed!

Quote That Inspires You/Gives You All The Feels From A Book You’ve Read: "And I tell you, if you have the desire for knowledge and the power to give it physical expression, go out and explore. If you are a brave man you will do nothing: if you are fearful you may do much, for none but cowards have need to prove their bravery. Some will tell you that you are mad, and nearly all will say, 'What is the use?' For we are a nation of shopkeepers, and no shopkeeper will look at research which does not promise him a financial return within a year. And so you will sledge nearly alone, but those with whom you sledge will not be shopkeepers: that is worth a good deal. If you march your Winter Journeys you will have your reward, so long as all you want is a penguin's egg." People are always amazed when I can recite it from memory haha

Reading Regret: The Signature of All Things (AWFUL), The Shameless Diary of an Explorer (anti-Semetic and animal cruelty), A Cat Named Darwin (animal cruelty)

Series You Started And Need To Finish: The Invisible Library (two books left!), Cormoran Strike mysteries (one left!)

Three Of Your All-Time Favourite Books: The Worst Journey in the World; The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet; And Then There Were None

Unapologetic Fangirl For: Books about Cherry?? Haha

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others: The New Flavia de Luce mystery (What Time the Sexton's Spade Doth Rust) is finally out, yay!! Flavia is so funny lol. The new Charles Lenox mystery (The Hidden City) is coming out Sept. 2025..too long to wait!! Those books are also cozy lol

Worst Bookish Habit: Reading on when I'm absolutely hating it. I tried to read I, Claudius but it was SO BORING I stopped 100 pages in, but it's rare I stop. There are just too many other good books out there though, I shouldn't torture myself by reading something I hate!

X Marks The Spot: Start At The Top Left Of Your Shelf And Pick The 27th Book: Shackleton's Boat Journey

Your Latest Book Purchase: It was an Alaska book, I can't remember the title right now though

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late): The Stowaway was so suspenseful I could hardly put it down!

3. What’s Your Comfort Food? Vanilla bean frappuccinos, cinnamon toast, etc

4. How Good a Friend Are You? I try to be a good friend, by being supportive and caring, positive, etc. Hopefully my friends think I'm a good friend lol

5. Do You Think You’ve Forged Your Lifelong Taste in Music? Hmm..kind of? I'm not as into metal as I used to be (I still really like Nightwish and Tyr though). I think I listen to more 70s/80s now though. Maybe it'll keep evolving over time?
