A modern retelling of a classic: Red Queen by Christina Henry (Aug 1-5)

A book about a forbidden romance: Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (Aug 6-7). Nice! The movie was pretty good too lol

A celebrity memoir: Still Remembering You by Bobby Sherman (Aug 7-10). Of course I had to read this after discovering Here Come the Brides hehe. He seems like a genuinely nice person, surprisingly uncorrupted by fame. After singing and acting he became a paramedic!

A book by an author with the same initials as you: Three Sisters by Heather Morris (Aug 10-15). I should get extra points for her name being similar to mine :P

A book set in the decade you were born: Eruption: The Untold Story of Mount St. Helens by Steve Olson (Aug 15-18). A lot of this book was about logging around the volcano *yawns*

A book about a vacation: The Stowaway by James S. Murray and Darren Wearmouth (Aug 19-20). A vacation gone very wrong..this book was bloody and brutal O_o

A book that was self-published: Encounter On Taylor Glacier by Anthony J. Harrison (Aug 21-25). The story was ok, but it was TERRIBLY written..he kept omitting commas, always wrote goggles as "googles," etc..it drove me crazy haha

A book that features two languages: The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie (Aug 25-27). Yesss Agatha Christie's books are great!! Great plot twists lol. I just wish I understood French more, since the main character (Hercule Poirot) often adds French words when speaking English, and it's annoying not knowing what he's saying :P

A book you wish you could read for the first time again: Mrs. Chippy's Last Expedition: The Remarkable Journal of Shackleton's Polar-Bound Cat by Caroline Alexander (Aug 28-29). I'm glad I read this again because I had forgotten details like Chippy describing the sky as "mouse-grey," and just knowing more about polar exploration helps too lol

A book with a love triangle: Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie (Aug 29-31). Another vacation gone wrong :P

I tied my record of ten books read in a month!! Feeling better definitely helps reading too haha. I was happy to go to counseling this week and having good things to report!

Dad got the stitches in his toe out yesterday, and he's SO happy now haha..it was infected so long he doesn't miss it. :P He also got hearing aids, and he can watch TV directly into his hearing aids instead of blasting everyone away with the loudness of the TV..technology is awesome :P

29 – Lemon Juice Day: Is lemon juice a staple in your kitchen? Do you use it for non-culinary purposes? Do you have a favourite lemon-flavoured food or beverage? No and no. Lemonade is good

September 1 – World Letter Writing Day: Do you still write actual letters to anyone (email doesn't count!)? Did you have penpals when you were young(er)? Do you miss receiving actual letters in the mail (or any mail other than junk/flyers)? No. I did. Maybe a little, it was fun to read them lol
