Last night I dreamed of rdyfrde...she and I were on vacation or something and she was showing me her music collection. I notice she had Imaginations from the Other Side by Blind Guardian...I didn't have that CD and I asked if I could listen to it and she said yes...I put it in my CD player and nothing happened. I put it in the computer...nothing happened...then it started playing Somewhere Far Beyond which isn't even on that CD. But I really do want Imaginations from the Other Side...I've already heard like half the songs from it but only live...though I think someone sent the regular version of A Past and Future Secret and it sounded soooo awesome. And Somewhere Far Beyond is very catchy and addictive...

Where do I begin in what went wrong with Troy?

I find it distressing that saturday morning cartoons I saw as a child manage to have more of an adult tone than do feature films they market to adults these days. When a film based on a Heinlein or King novel is rated PG-13, you might as well plaster "this film will be a real piece of crap" all over the one-sheet. Ditto for Homer. Just as a guide to how sanitised Troy was, the real reason Achilles was so distraught over the death of his "cousin" is because the cousin was actually his lover. Go figure.

King Arthur... where do I begin? When you start a film with a claim about new research shedding light on who the historical figure (who has less evidence to support his existence than Jesus Christ) is, it is not a good idea to work from a script that is half bull, and the other half... well, you get the idea. They could not even get elementary physics such as the fact that a crossbowman could nail a Knight with a Longbow (which the Knights there did not even have) from well out of his range.

As an even bigger indication, Police Academy was rated R. Police Academy 2 was rated PG-13. Police Academy: Mission To Moscow, along with the other four sequels, was rated PG. Notice a bit of a pattern forming here? Hell, Resident Evil: Apocalypse was rated R there. If that does not make a joke out of the American rating system, I don't know what does. The MPAA make their raties for infants, and it seems they are determined to make their films only suitable for infants. Truly good films only come out in spite of the system there now. Were it not for the exceptions, I would not even bother watching films at all, in fact.

Having an ego that writes cheques which your brain or body cannot cash disqualifies you from being sexy. While I cannot comment in Antonio Banderas' case (since he has made some halfway decent films), Catherine Zeta-Jones is all mouth and no substance. One method I would have suggested for improving The One would have been to have Carla Gugino beat seven bells out of Catherine Zeta-Jones.

WTH? I really don't care how historically accurate movies are and whatever...I just enjoy watching them...I find it enjoyable...I know you're a harsh critic on movies but let me enjoy movies I like...

You asked why people get upset when films are made to aim for a family-friendly rating, you got the answer. People are sick of the MPAA treating them like they are four years old. The MPAA loves to quote figures saying R rated films never make that much money, then I have to point out to them that RoboCop made more than four times its investment in box office receipts alone.

As you can see, historical accuracy is one sentence in a long, damning indictment. Please stop zeroing in on one little part and trying to make it the whole. I expect better.
