glacier_kittyA bestseller from the 1990s: Smilla's Sense of Snow by Peter Høeg (Feb 27-Mar 7)
A book set in multiple countries: Around the World in 50 Years: My Adventure to Every Country on Earth by Albert Podell (Mar 8-15). I wish he had written something about every country, but he mostly talked about African and Middle East countries, probably because they were more "extreme," like almost getting lynched, almost getting blown up by a land mine, etc. North Korea was one of the most interesting (and sad) to read about..everything is SUPER controlled there. He wasn't allowed to talk to the general public (except waitresses at restaurants), because they didn't want them to get "tainted" by Western beliefs or something. One person was so hungry they killed a squirrel at a park and brought it home. Those poor people.. :(
A book by a Muslim American author: Mycroft Holmes by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Mar 15-21)
A book set in a restaurant: Molly and the Cat Cafe by Melissa Daley (Mar 22-25)
A book about do-overs or fresh starts: The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley (Mar 26-28). People actually rated this book one star because one of the main characters is a lesbian, like this one: "Great story. HOWEVER. It is clear that one of the main characters is a lesbian. Although most children wouldn't pick up on it, it's obvious. This book is marketed to CHILDREN. Sad sad sad. It would have been so easy to leave that out of this book - I would have rated it 5 stars." WTF??? There is *nothing* wrong with being a lesbian, and children should know that! What's knowing going to do, break them? Sheesh..
A book everyone seems to have read but you: Inferno by Dante Alighieri (Mar 29-30). Everyone, including Cherry. :D There's more than one reference to that book in The Worst Journey ("the temperature that night was -75.8°, and I will not pretend that it did not convince me that Dante was right when he placed the circles of ice below the circles of fire"). Honestly not the easiest book to read, but I did it for Cherry LOL

A local school dropped off Easter bags to residents at where I live, and mine made me SO happy..it included handmade cards, candy, real daffodils, and plastic Easter eggs, which had me squeeing haha..I hadn't gotten any since I was a kid! That was so nice and thoughtful of those kids <3
It's supposed to snow eight inches this weekend. O_o March and April seem to be really snowy months here for some reason..

28. Do you have a certain way you have to sleep? (Covered, not covered, with or without noise etc) I have to have white noise, otherwise everything I hear (including my breathing) annoys me lol. I do like better it when I'm covered and cozy too

1. Do you have any channels you regularly watch on YouTube? Sure, like Truly's Born Different channel, which features people with disabilities and differences. It's inspiring to watch!
Today's trivia: Alexander the Great was accidentally buried alive. Scientists believe Alexander suffered from a neurological disorder called Guillain-Barré Syndrome. His muscles were paralyzed to the point that doctors couldn't see he was still breathing, meaning he was pronounced dead nearly a week early. They believe that before he died he was actually just paralyzed and mentally aware! (...that is horrifying D: D:)
