Yay wilderness mysteries!

A book where the main character works at your current or dream job: Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan (Feb. 6-9)

A book from your TBR list you associate with a favorite person, place, or thing: The Winter Pony by Iain Lawrence (Feb. 12-15). Told from the perspective of one of the ponies on Scott's expedition. I love how he described Cherry: "There was a very nice man with a very big name. Mr. Apsley Cherry-Garrard. To me, and to everyone, he was only Cherry. He was twenty-six, which seemed ancient to a pony but not many years to a man. He looked after Weary Willy, and did it with nothing but kindness. Cherry could see only by peering through bits of glass hooked to his nose, as though he wore his eyes outside his head. It was his job to study the animals that lived in this winter land, and he was probably the happiest man on the whole ship because he was surrounded by the strangest animals." Awwww. <3 This probably shouldn't have been written as a kids book though..all the ponies die in some way or other, I think that would really upset a kid reading it!

A book found on a Black Lives Matter reading list: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi (Feb. 16-21)

A DNF book from your TBR list: The Stowaway: A Young Man's Extraordinary Adventure to Antarctica by Laurie Gwen Shapiro (Feb. 21-24)

The shortest book (by pages) on your TBR list: 100 Cats Who Changed Civilization: History's Most Influential Felines (Feb. 25-26). I love that Mrs. Chippy was included, the cat on Shackleton's Endurance expedition <3
