*sighs in relief*
Dec. 14th, 2017 08:10 pmThanks for all of your kind words yesterday. <3 I was indeed able to talk to Denise today (I can't stand feeling upset so long, why I try to hardly ever get angry!). I was like "am I a burden to you?" and she looked at me with total shock on her face. I told her how much the box thing upset me and she apologized profusely, saying that she was indeed stressed out..I just tried to make a joke at the wrong time I guess lol. She felt bad I hadn't told her sooner, but I would have said something I would have regretted probably..she said I should tell her right away if she does something to upset me again. She doesn't think I'm dumb or a burden..she wouldn't trust me so much in the bookstore if I was! I felt so relieved and was like "well that's over now" and we both started laughing about it instead. :D I'm glad I can talk things out with her, it helps our work relationship and friendship grow stronger!
Another great thing that happened today..a couple days ago I lost one of my gloves when I took them off inside..I put a note on the bulletin board in the hopes that someone found it..and when I got home, it was sitting by my door!! Thank you, awesome anonymous person!! (I went back downstairs right away and taped "thank you!!!" to the board lol.) There is still good in the world :D
What book has been on your shelf the longest? Ones from childhood, like Where the Red Fern Grows
What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?
Current: Polar Dream by Helen Thayer
Last: The White Desert by Noel Barber
Next: I can't possibly choose that now LOL, it takes me forever to choose a new one haha
What book did everyone like but you hated? Of Mice and Men
What book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read but you probably won’t? I have a feeling it might be Seven Years in Tibet, even if I had been wanting it for years. I guess my interests have "shifted," as Paulette would say :P (it amuses me how she words things..her way of asking what level of Candy Crush I was on was "so where are you in this whole process?" LOL)
What book are you saving for retirement? All the ones I didn’t get around to reading until then :P <-- Yeeeep lol
Last page: Read it first or save until the end? Save it! Why would I want to spoil myself??
Acknowledgement: Waste of paper and ink or interesting aside? It can be interesting
Which book character would you switch places with? *shrugs*
Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life? Sure..I was reading one of the Shannara books the first time I visited my cousin's buffalo farm in Wisconsin in 2003, so they remind me of that trip (of of my favorite memories <3)
Name a book that you acquired in an interesting way. It was pretty awesome finding a 1951 edition of The Worst Journey in the World in a local store's basement lol
Have you ever given a book away for a special reason to a special person? Sure, like Christmas presents and stuff
Which book has been with you most places? Maybe ones from childhood?
Any required reading that you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad two years later? Nah, I still hate Of Mice and Men :P
Used or brand new? Both
Have you ever read a Dan Brown book? No
Have you ever seen a movie you liked more than the book? Yeah, like A Man Called Ove
Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, cookbooks included? YES haha, like Harry Potter (their feasts always sounded so good!) and the Charles Lenox mysteries ("Lenox fell gratefully upon a stack of cinnamon toast wedges, piping hot and running with butter" *drools*)
Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take? Someone who likes the same books I do maybe
Is there a book outside your comfort zone you ended up loving? I wasn't sure if I'd like Antarctica by Kim Stanley Robinson, but you can obviously tell what happened there :P
Today's trivia: There are trees that can grow more than one kind of fruit, and they're called fruit salad trees
