Inside Passage ferry trip
Apr. 20th, 2012 12:08 pmHelloooo I am back from the ferry ride! It was fun but I am glad to be home. I still feel like I'm on the ship and swaying from the ocean haha. Beware, this entry may get long..
Saturday, April 14
Dad picked me up at the hotel at 11 something I think. His truck was PACKED with stuff haha. It was 100 miles or so to Bellingham so we got going as soon as possible. We got stuck in traffic in downtown Seattle..dad was stressed and worried we'd miss the ferry. We got stuck in traffic in a couple other cities, but we did make the ferry. It was definitely bigger than the one I took to Cordova. While waiting to board we met these two guys going to Fairbanks too. They were crazy haha. We hung out with them the whole trip. :P We boarded and found our roomette..basically a closet with beds haha. Oh well, we were just sleeping in it. They spent like..an hour and a half going in circles calibrating the compass haha. It was cool after we left seeing the lights of Vancouver and the ski runs on the mountain. We went to bed super early haha..so tired. :P Surprisingly dad snored only a little..relieving haha. I found it really funny we were sailing on the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic :P
Sunday, April 15
We spent the whole day sailing in Canada. It was cool seeing all the islands and stuff. We passed a couple Native villages too..one blew a horn at us and we did it back..that was fun. :D I became friends with a German lady called Sabine. I LOVED her accent..it was so pretty and musical and lilting..like Tina's! :D I think this was the only day it rained, though just a little. There was a GPS map thing on TVs showing where we were..I followed it obsessively haha. On to more exciting days...
( more adventures )
I'll post my pics hopefully tomorrow! I have a lot haha. Hopefully I'll stop swaying by then..
Would you rather if attacked in your home by a burglar, defend yourself with only a baseball bat or an unloaded gun? The baseball bat
Today's trivia: England and Portugal have never been at war with each other. It is probably the longest unbroken peace between nations in the world
