After going through depression part of the year and after watching Les Mis, I had to get this shirt:

Quote of the year! Don't give up! I'm so glad I finally watched Les Mis, I didn't know it would have this much an effect on me though! The songs are in my head a lot haha. I'm intimidated by the book (it's super long), but I want to try to read it anyway (luckily it fits one of the topics of next year's reading challenge!). I hope I can see it live one day!

I took my CPAP back to the sleep place, I just couldn't get used to it. I think a lot of my sleep issues were depression related anyway (like lying awake for three hours thinking about how miserable I was..ugh). I'm still groggy when I wake up, but I'm not a morning person anyway, and can shake it off when I get to work or wherever. There are mouth guard things I could try, but they're pretty expensive..maybe one day..

1. During which specific hour of the day are you likeliest to be happy? Maybe in the evening, especially when reading in bed or having dessert after dinner haha
2. Which food-beverage pairings do you feel strongest about? Popcorn and SoBe (I haven't been able to find SoBe in a couple years though :(), orange juice and breakfast, a smoothie and a bagel, etc
3. Do you enjoy (or have you enjoyed) socializing with coworkers? Yes, we have so much fun! Today me and Vicki were talking about the steamy paranormal fiction books that always have shirtless men (well, vampires or whatever haha) on the cover LOL..neither of us would read them, but they're amusing to look at :P
4. When did you last try something different (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to drink? A few months ago?
5. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day of doing whatever you do during the day? Going online, taking a nap, eating a snack, etc

I've had a cold for a week now, ugh..it's been going around at work. Not a fan of sharing germs with people LOL

I'm actually really disliking my CPAP..I hate sleeping with something on my face, sometimes I wake up and it's making annoying noises, and the smell of the mask is just weird. I don't feel like it's helped my sleep much, though that might be because I get annoyed with it halfway through the night and take it off. Maybe I'll get used to it eventually, but right now it's just annoying..

9 – International Sudoku Day: Do you sudoku, or are you more of a crosswords puzzle person? No, crosswords are way better lol

10 – Arts in Education Week: Every year beginning the second Sunday in September, National Arts in Education Week celebrates the transformative powers of creative skills. Sadly, governments everywhere are cutting arts programs in schools, citing budget concerns, or to favour more "career-oriented" programs. Did you take any type of art courses in school (art, music, dance, etc.)? What benefits are there to arts education? Yeah, art and music. You get to show your creativity, and some people can better express themselves through art

11 – No News is Good News Day: From where to you get most of your news? Do you find the daily onslaught of usually pretty bad news overwhelming? Do you take, or have you taken, breaks from news – essentially avoiding all news as much as possible? Yahoo, Facebook, etc. Yes, which is why I try not to read or listen to the news too much..it's so depressing!

12 – Day of Encouragement: Are you the type of person who naturally tries to encourage others when they need it? Does anyone in your life do the same for you? Yes and yes..it's nice!

13 – Defy Superstition Day: From throwing salt over your shoulder if you spill some, avoiding stepping on cracks in the pavement, to worrying about black cats, the world is full of superstitions. Even if your rational mind knows these strange dictates have no influence on your life, are there any superstitions you do find yourself observing? Have you ever done something considered a superstition that actually happened, e.g. you broke a mirror and then had seven incredibly unlucky years? Somewhere I read that Napoleon thought the number 9 was bad luck, so if I'm reading, I won't stop on a page that ends in 9. I have OCD tendencies too, so my mind is always like "if you stop reading on this page you'll die!" Sometimes I can ignore the thought, but a lot of the time I can't..it's super annoying lol

14 – Live Creative Day: Live Creative Day encourages us to let the world see our creativity all day long. How can you bring more creativity into your daily tasks, either at work, or at home? Hmm..maybe display some books in a cool way

15 – International Day of Democracy: How would you rate the health of your country's democracy and democratic institutions (assuming you live in one!)? What could be done to strengthen your country's democratic institutions? It's not the greatest. Get people in office or the Senate or wherever who aren't corrupt, for one (not likely :P)

Four places I have worked:
1. When I was a kid, sometimes I took care of people's pets while they were away, if that counts lol
2. Forget-Me-Not Books. Work went by SO FAST today!! It was pretty busy! Someone bought a lot of mystery books this weekend, and put quite a bit back on the shelves..satisfying! I'm so glad I'm enjoying it again (I found five books today that
I wanted though..so dangerous working there :P)

Four things I love to watch on TV/Netflix:
1. Here Come the Brides..I discovered it when looking for movies/TV shows with characters who stutter (still fascinating to me for some reason. I've come across some weird movies, like The Passion of Darkly Noon. O_o It had Viggo Mortensen in it though, which is always a plus LOL). Jeremy (played by Bobby Sherman) is a main character who stutters (mostly in the first season, he was helped by a snake-oil salesman in the first season, and only stutters in the second season when he's nervous or unsure or something). He's shy and caring and just a great guy (Bobby Sherman himself seems like a great guy! Not bad looking either LOL). The show can be cheesy, but it's entertaining. Everyone I ask who grew up in that era (late 60s) gets really happy when I ask them if they know who Bobby Sherman is LOL (even my mom, and she doesn't care about celebrities!). Too bad there's only two seasons :(
2. Stranger Things
3. Bones (though I haven't seen it in a long time)
4. Agent Carter

Four places I have visited:
1. Carcassonne, France
2. Galveston, Texas
3. Wheathampstead, England
4. Watertown, Wisconsin

Four things I love to eat:
1. Popcorn
2. Cake with lots of frosting
3. Strawberry smoothies/milkshakes
4. Paneer masala

Four places I’ve lived:
1. Claremont, California
2. Flower Mound, Texas
3. Fairbanks, Alaska (Goldstream, outside of town)
4. Fairbanks, Alaska (downtown)

Four favorite drinks:
1. Strawberry smoothies/milkshakes
2. Lemonade
3. Vitamin Water
4. Apple juice

Each time I use the CPAP it seems to get a little better..I still feel tired, but maybe that'll go away in time..

1. What is an ideal career for someone who’s your exact opposite? A radio announcer, for one..I stumble over my words too much, and talking gets exhausting after awhile :P
2. What do most people not know about your job? Possibly that the books that are damaged or don't sell we take to the dump..it's sad, but no one wants moldy books lol
3. Which stereotypes about people in your job are pretty close to accurate? Most of the bookstore people are crazy cat ladies haha..we get distracted from work by amusing cat stories :P
4. Which movie or TV series has a pretty good portrayal of your job? Ummm..I'm not sure..
5. Which wild animal would be best suited to doing your job? An ape??

Dad's surgery went well, but mom got covid while in Anchorage! She went so long without getting it! She's feeling better today, but she didn't feel great the other days this week. Definitely not a fun illness to have..

I got my CPAP on Tuesday..the guy showed me how to set it up and tested a mask..it's pretty straightforward. I tried it Tuesday night, but it was suffocating and only used it for an hour. I tried again on Wednesday and it didn't feel so suffocating that time, but it's hard to sleep on your side with something on your face! I used it for six hours, and last night I used it for 6.5 hours. I can't say I'm a huge fan of it, but I'm not fan of waking up because I've stopped breathing either. D: Maybe I'll feel less tired if I've used it long enough..
