Here are some highs and lows of 2009 (of course there's more but I'd spend all day trying to think haha):
Highs:
Going to Portage Glacier and being freezing and soaked but having so much fun
Getting a new cat
Going to San Diego and hanging out with Dana
Work
Seeing sweet Northern Lights
Being in front of Surprise Glacier and seeing it calve
Going to Valdez, walking on the dock and seeing it on a clear day
Being really happy on New Year's
Hiking on Ester Dome
Going to Chena Hot Springs with Dana
Going across the suspension rope bridge on the Gulkana Glacier hike
Realizing my fascination with rivers
Lows
Having anxiety attacks
Being depressed
Feeling really weak and blah on my hike to Gulkana Glacier (I had started on anti-depressants) and not being able to walk on it
Extreme repeating thoughts in my head
Going back to Texas
Not seeing huge glaciers while flying by the Alaska/Canada coast
Not feeling the same since coming back from Texas
Today's trivia: According to linguists, the letter p in "ptarmigan" has no etymological justification whatsoever
