Babiche: Rawhide strips, most commonly cut from moose hide, that are used to keep body and soul together when nails won't work. Good for making lean-tos, snowshoes, even fishing nets. And, if you're really, really, really hungry, you can boil it to make--yuk!--soup

I LOVE your bird pictures! The redpolls are SO cute. They are just as cute as the chickadees, I think, unless they are just particularly fluffy because of the cold hehe. The ptarmigans are awesome, too!

That is WAY too much snow to shovel haha...that must have been a serious workout. :P The sunrise is really pretty, too.
