Dracula was a real person. He was known as Vlad Dracula.

His father was King of Wallachia. The Turks killed his father by peeling off his face while he was still conscious.

His brother then became King. His brother was killed by having his eyes put out with hot pokers then buried alive.

Vlad Dracula then assumed the throne. He found vengeance by inviting 500 nobles and important persons to a grand party. He wined and dined them... showing them every courtesy and entertaining them in grand fashion... then had all 500, their wives, and their staff, murdered by impaling them on long stakes and leaving them to die and rot in the open. He was known to soak up their blood in bowls of bread and then eat it.

He then waged war on the his surrounding enemies, slaughtering tens of thousands of people before finally being beheaded by the Turks.

His head was preserved in honey then displayed on a stake in Istanbul as proof that he was finally dead.

They went under his castle in a show called Cities of the Underworld. He put his bedroom above the cellar where he kept some of his victims, so every night he could hear them screaming/crying (etc.) while he was going to sleep. Creepy old fart. XD
