Books read in June
Jul. 1st, 2021 04:47 pmA genre hybrid: The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton (May 28-June 5). I LOVED the 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, so I was excited to read this one too. Mysteries on a ship in the middle of the ocean, oh yeah! I also thought it seemed very similar to the story of the Batavia, where this guy wrecked the ship on purpose and lead a mutiny, killing many people, and sure enough, at the end of the book, the author said he had visited Australia and heard that story, and was inspired to write a novel similar to that story. I'm excited to see what his next book will be about!
A book from your TBR list chosen at random: The Raven's Gift by Don Rearden (June 5-9)
A book that has a heart, diamond, club, or spade on the cover: Black Butterfly by Mark Gatiss (June 10-14). I was excited when Denise found a box set of Cherry the Second's books, and even more so when one of the books matched a challenge topic..it was meant to be :P
A book that has fewer than 1,000 reviews on Amazon or Goodreads: Dancing on Ice by Jeremy Scott (June 15-18)
A book you think your best friend would like: Mind of the Raven: Investigations and Adventures with Wolf-Birds by Heinrich Bernd (June 19-25). Ravens are fascinating, and so smart!
A book about art or an artist: Still Life by Louise Penny (June 27-29). Her books are super popular at work lol
( the topics )
( and a long book bolding survey! )
It's 86 degrees right now..too hot!!
28. If I stepped into your shower, what is the first item I would notice? Maybe the shampoo and stuff?
29. Did you go to your high school’s homecoming dance? No, I think I would have rather died :P
30. Who taught you how to drive? I've only driven twice, both times with dad
July 1. Have there been any periods in your life that could be described as being chaotic? Sure, when my anxiety and depression were really bad, and when my emotions were crazy when I was a teenager :P
Today's trivia: Metallica is the first and only band to have played on all 7 continents
