Books read in January
Feb. 1st, 2019 05:35 pmA book with a plant in the title or on the cover: The Wild Trees by Richard Preston (Jan. 2-6). Yay, redwoods!
A debut novel: The Wild Inside by Christine Carbo (Jan. 6-13). Excellent, love mysteries that take place in the wilderness of national parks :D
A book becoming a movie in 2019: Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple (Jan. 13-16). I wonder if the movie will have The Worst Journey in the World in it? ;) Hehe
A book by two female authors: No Horizon Is So Far: Two Women And Their Extraordinary Journey Across Antarctica by Liv Arnesen and Ann Bancroft (Jan. 17-20)
A book that makes you nostalgic: Where Am I Now? by Mara Wilson (Jan. 21-23). Nostalgic, but also pretty depressing, and I *really* didn't need to know about her dating/sex life..bleh
A book with a two-word title: The Precipice by Paul Doiron (Jan. 24-28). Another great wilderness mystery!
A book you meant to read in 2018: Here Shall I Die Ashore: Stephen Hopkins - Bermuda Castaway, Jamestown Survivor, and Mayflower Pilgrim by Caleb H. Johnson (Jan. 28-30). He definitely had an exciting life haha. He had like 37 grandchildren..no wonder so many of us are related to him :P
( the topics )
That cold in the Lower 48 sounded crazy..-60 windchills??! D: I'm so glad Fairbanks isn't usually windy in the winter!
( Day 29-32 )
