Another shameless Cherry post :P
Nov. 26th, 2017 11:25 amEvery time I watch The Worst Journey in the World docudrama, I learn or see something new. Here are a couple things I saw yesterday:

I never noticed the writing under Cherry's name till yesterday.."Lamer" was his estate (I'll never get over that the person Cherry sold it to tore it down :(), and Wheathampshire was the town he lived in. I doubt I would have known the first couple times I watched it what that meant..and I was busy staring at "Apsley Cherry-Garrard" LOL. He has the coolest name!

The Belgica took part in the Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1897–1901, led by Adrien de Gerlache. The Belgica was the first ship to overwinter in the Antarctic. I love the little details like that in the movie! I LOVE how many of the lines are directly or pretty close to what the book says (I've pretty much memorized that part of the book LOL), especially ones like "and yet with quiet perseverance, in perfect friendship, almost with gentleness those two men led on." Mark Gatiss did such a great job <3
I don't think I've shared this picture yet:

Cool :)
I'm glad I'm going back to work tomorrow, so I can stop looking at Scott Expedition pics and videos all day LOL (I did the same thing last year on Thanksgiving break too..I need a life :P)
